Tomorrow: Q&A Webinar for Vaya Health Network Providers Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Q&A Webinars for Vaya Network Providers take place every two weeks and are an important source of the most up-to-date information. Registration is not required. All Vaya network providers are encouraged to join. This week’s topics include: COVID-19 vaccine information, reimbursement deadlines, Appendix K flexibilities updates and state funding extensions.

Q&A WEBINAR FOR VAYA NETWORK PROVIDERS – JAN. 8, 2021

Changes to the Provider Nomination Process Vaya’s provider nomination process will be offline from Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, until Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. During that time, the nomination request process will move from the FluidReview platform to the SurveyMonkey Apply platform. During the transition, providers will not be able to submit Nomination Request Forms to join Vaya’s closed provider network, add sites, add services or make other changes requiring a Nomination Request Form. Any Nomination Request Forms that have not been completed and submitted by a provider before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, must be recreated after Jan. 25 using SurveyMonkey Apply.

COVID-19 NEWS AND UPDATES Stay at Home Order Extended; Cohen Issues Secretarial Directive Gov. Roy Cooper announced Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, that North Carolina’s Modified Stay At Home Order will be extended through at least Jan. 29. The order requires people to be at home


from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Read more. Also on Wednesday, N.C. DHHS Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen issued a secretarial directive telling North Carolinians to stay home except for essential activities and avoid gathering, especially indoors, with people who live outside their household. Cohen issued the directive due to the rapidly increasing number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in the state and the rising numbers of individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. This webinar from the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry (AADMD) addresses concerns related to the efficacy and safety of COVID-19 vaccines. Rescinded: JCB #248 Critical Access Behavioral Health Agencies (CABHAs) Sunsetting DHHS has rescinded Joint Communication Bulletin #J248, Critical Access Behavioral Health Agencies (CABHAs) Sunsetting, published on May 16, 2017. CABHAs were established in 2009 and governed by temporary administrative rules that expired on Oct. 15, 2011. However, CABHA requirements continued under General Assembly Session Law 2012-171, Senate Bill 525. Adherence by LME/MCOs and existing CABHAs is required by legislation as well as policy. The Medicaid State Plan and clinical coverage policies, as well as non-Medicaidfunded service definitions, require certain service providers to be certified as a CABHA to be in compliance with legislation.
