Q&A WEBINAR FOR VAYA NETWORK PROVIDERS - FEB. 4, 2022

Claims Submission during Cardinal Innovations Close-Out Transitioning Cardinal Innovations providers should submit all Cardinal Innovations claims for dates of service prior to Jan. 1, 2022, to Cardinal Innovations. For dates of service starting on Jan. 1, 2022, please send claims to Vaya. Claims that are sent to the wrong LME/MCO will be denied.

State-funded Residential Services in Transitioning Cardinal Innovations Counties Effective Jan. 1, 2022, Vaya is managing State-funded Residential Services in the nine counties transitioning from Cardinal Innovations. NC Medicaid Special Bulletin: ICF/IID Rate Adjustments NC Medicaid has determined that the total ICF/IID per diem rate increase will be $102.06 effective for dates of service beginning Feb. 1, 2022. This increase will replace Vaya’s 15% ICF/IID COVID19/PHE Rate Supplement, which is end-dated Jan. 31, 2022. The NC Medicaid rate increase comprises two components: $68.76 funded by the recurring legislated appropriations $33.30 funded through March 2022 with appropriated funds, and from April 1, 2022 forward, by an increase in the ICF/IID per bed assessment The $102.06 increase will be added to each ICF/IID provider’s site-specific base rate. Vaya will initiate contract amendments with all ICF/IID providers. As required by NCDHHS, the amendment will include an attestation that the provider is passing on 80% of the $68.76 component of the per diem rate increase to direct care worker wages. Vaya encourages all ICF/IID providers to review NC Medicaid’s communication regarding the submission of wage data to document baseline pay levels for direct care workers. This data is due to NC Medicaid by March 4, 2022. Read more: NC Medicaid SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #225: Update on Direct Care Worker ICFIID Wage Increase

Electronic Visit Verification and Direct Care Worker Rate Adjustments The purpose of this communication is to alert Vaya Health Network Providers to upcoming rate adjustments to implement NC Medicaid-mandated Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) and direct care worker (DCW) rate adjustments and to confirm coordination with the current COVID-19/PHE Rate Supplements. Memo: Electronic Visit Verification and Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) Direct Care Worker Rate Supplements, and Coordination with COVID-19/PHE Supplements (Feb. 3, 2022)

Office Hours Sessions for Providers Transitioning from Cardinal Innovations Vaya continues to offer Provider Transition Office Hours sessions. These drop-in sessions allow transitioning providers to ask questions and get answers from staff experts about Vaya’s provider network, utilization management, claims, enrollment and eligibility, care management, and AlphaMCS. Upcoming sessions are announced in the Provider Communication Bulletin the week prior to the event. Please note: Because sessions use a drop-in format with the potential for multiple providers to be in the same session simultaneously, we are not able to discuss member-specific issues during this time.
