Pathways to Permanency Child Welfare Project Vaya Health has launched a new child welfare project, Pathways to Permanency, across our region. This project focuses on improving outcomes in the child welfare system by bringing together community partners to make systemic changes. The input of behavioral health care providers is crucial to create positive changes for youth and families involved in the child welfare system. Pathways to Permanency strives to coordinate efforts among child welfare and behavioral health professionals to ensure youth in foster care have access to quality behavioral health services and a nurturing environment in which to thrive. Project stakeholders address needs for shared understanding, accessible quality behavioral health assessments and interventions, and safe and supportive homes. If you serve youth involved in the child welfare system and are interested in participating in this project, please register to join us for a virtual orientation from 9-9:45 a.m. April 18 . During orientation, you will have the opportunity to select which workgroup is the best fit for you. The following workgroups will meet virtually once a month: 1. Common Language and Shared Understanding 2. Appropriate and Supportive Home: Kinship Providers 3. Appropriate and Supportive Home: Suitable Placements 4. Appropriate and Supportive Home: New Foster Family Recruitment 5. Quality Clinical Assessments to Drive Services 6. Accessible Quality Continuum of Behavioral Health Services If you have questions or would like more information, please email Ashley Parks, Child & Family Network Development Manager, at ashley.parks@vayahealth.com . We look forward to partnering with you in this critical work.

Updating Provider Contact Information Please remember to keep your provider contact information current with Vaya. Recently, outdated provider contact information has created challenges in making timely referrals. Vaya suggests that

providers consider creating a dedicated email address for referrals that is accessible to multiple people at the organization to avoid disruptions in referrals due to staffing changes. To make updates, please submit the Provider Change Request Form with Section E completed to CredentialingTeam@vayahealth.com.

Public Comment Open: Clinical Coverage Policy 8B NC Medicaid has posted the draft amended Clinical Coverage Policy 8B – Inpatient Behavioral Health Services for 45-day public comment. Comments must be submitted to medicaid.public.comment@dhhs.nc.gov by May 12, 2022.

Retroactive Authorizations: Reminder for Providers Serving Members in Counties Transitioned from Cardinal Innovations As of April 1, 2022, providers serving Vaya members in counties that transitioned from Cardinal Innovations must use the AlphaMCS claims management system to submit retroactive authorization requests for services occurring prior to Jan. 1, 2022. The CI claims system formerly used by Cardinal Innovations is no longer available for these requests. If you have questions, please email provider.info@vayahealth.com or call the Provider Help Line at 828-225-2785, ext. 1512.

Holiday Schedule: Vaya Office Closure and Q&A Webinar for Vaya Network Providers Vaya offices will be closed on April 15, 2022, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. The next Q&A Webinar for Vaya Network Providers will be held on April 22, 2022. We will publish a link to the webinar in the Provider Communication Bulletin the week prior to and the week of the event.

AlphaMCS Transition Complete Vaya has successfully transitioned from a Wellsky-hosted version of AlphaMCS to an in-house version as Wellsky ends support for the AlphaMCS product. The in-house AlphaMCS environment is a duplicate of the current system. All data in the hosted version is available in the new system, and portal user IDs and passwords in use at the time of the transition to the in-house AlphaMCS system have not changed. Vaya will use the in-house version until we move to a new claims processing application, Conduent HSP, expected later this year. Vaya network providers can access the new environment at https://alphamcs.vayahealth.com/portallogin. This URL can be used for service authorization, claims processing, and provider profiles associated with Vaya. Users will not have the ability to access or submit information to other LME/MCOs through this URL. Please note: You will now access the AlphaMCS Portal University through the menus screen after you log into AlphaMCS. Providers who direct submit 837 files to Vaya must now use the SFTP connection information and credentials they received from Vaya in February.

If you have any issues using the new platform, please email provider.info@vayahealth.com.
