April 2021 COVID-19 Hardship Payment Request Deadline – LAST CALL COVID-19 Provider Hardship Form submissions for April 2021 payments are due Monday, May 31, 2021. Starting Tuesday, June 1, Vaya will begin accepting hardship requests from providers that meet established criteria and are exhibiting a financial hardship for May dates of service as evidenced by their May billed claims. PLEASE NOTE: COVID-19 Provider Hardship Funding is focused on supporting qualified providers of Medicaid services for shortfalls experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaya will discontinue hardship funding for dates of service after June 30, 2021. Providers must submit COVID-19 Provider Hardship Funding Requests for June 2021 hardship payments by Saturday, July 31, 2021. Learn more: COVID-19 Provider Hardship Form
TAILORED CARE MANAGEMENT RESOURCE UPDATES NC Medicaid has issued the following updates related to the proposed Tailored Care Management model that will be part of the BH and I/DD Tailored Plan:
Updated Guidance: NC Medicaid has published updated guidance on Tailored Care Management, including updates on AMH+/CMA certification, capacity-building and rates. Historically Underutilized Provider Supplement Added: An optional supplement for historically underutilized providers (HUP) has been added to the Tailored Care Management application. This voluntary supplement to the application gives qualifying organizations the opportunity to self-identify as a HUP. Non-Binding Statement of Interest for Potential Clinically Integrated Networks and Other Partners Added: NC Medicaid has added a statement of interest document for clinically integrated networks (CINs) and other partners to denote interest in partnering with AMH+s/CMAs to share responsibility for specific functions and capabilities required to operate as an AMH+ practice or CMA while meeting the requirements of the Tailored Care Management model. Statement submission is voluntary and non-binding. Review all updates on the NC Medicaid Tailored Care Management webpage .
N.C. DHHS Extends Open Enrollment for Medicaid Managed Care through May 21 DHHS has extended open enrollment for NC Medicaid Managed Care through Friday, May 21. This extension will not impact the scheduled launch date of July 1, 2021. Beneficiaries can enroll in a health plan by calling the NC Medicaid Enrollment Broker Call Center at 833-870-5500 (TTY: 833-870-5588), going to ncmedicaidplans.gov or using the free NC Medicaid Managed Care mobile app available on Google Play or the App Store. The NC Medicaid Enrollment Broker also provides choice counseling to help beneficiaries determine which health plan is best for them. Most beneficiaries in NC Medicaid must be enrolled in a managed care health plan. More information can be found on the “Do I Need to Choose a Health Plan?” fact sheet. Executive Order No. 215: Health Care Settings Following guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), North Carolina has removed its indoor mask mandate for most settings and lifted all mass gathering limits and social distancing requirements. Executive Order No. 215 , issued May 14, 2021, outlines these changes and specifies ongoing restrictions in various settings, including health care settings. The order states, “All residents, workers, and visitors in health care settings including hospitals, outpatient healthcare settings, Long Term Care ("LTC") Facilities, skilled nursing facilities ('"SNF"), and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities ("ICFIID"), must follow the requirements in the CDC Healthcare Infection and Prevention Control Recommendations in Response to COVID-19 Vaccination”. Additional requirements in health care settings can be found in Executive Order Nos. 130 and 139 and in the Secretarial Orders issued under Executive Order Nos. 152, 165, 177, 193 and 211 (and any extensions).
