PROVIDER TOUCHPOINT – JUNE 17, 2022

COVID-19/PHE Rates Extended Vaya has extended COVID-19/PHE rate supplements that were due to sunset June 30, 2022. All rates currently in place across Vaya’s three benefit plans – Medicaid 1915(b) and (b)(3), Medicaid 1915(c), and non-Medicaid – will be carried forward into FY2022-23. To view current rate schedules, visit our Rate and Checkwrite Schedules webpage. The extension of Vaya’s COVID-19/PHE rate supplements is directly related to NC Medicaid’s continuation of PHE-related funding to LME/MCOs. Vaya will communicate additional information as it becomes available and will provide a minimum of 30 days’ notice of any significant rate changes. Please note that the CR and GTCR modifiers used to designate some services during the PHE will remain available for provider use. Reimbursement rates for CR- and GTCR-modified services are identical to the base codes listed in the rate schedule. Vaya will provide the same 30-day minimum notice prior to discontinuation of CR and GTCR modifiers.

Initial FY 2022-23 Rate Schedules All current FY 2021-22 rates (through June 8, 2022) across all Vaya benefit plans will be carried forward into FY 2022-23. Vaya will post FY 2022-23 rate schedules to our Rate and Checkwrite Schedules webpage prior to June 30, 2022, and communicate any future changes in the Provider Communications Bulletin. Please refer to the current schedules to confirm the billable rate, including any rate supplement, for each eligible service code. Remember to make necessary changes to billing systems, including in the HHA system for all electronic visit verification (EVV) services, and to bill charges at or above the posted rates to receive the full unit reimbursement. For more information, email provider.info@vayahealth.com.

Additional COVID-19/PHE Rate Increases for FY22 and End-ofFY22 Provider Payments for COVID-19/PHE Supplements New Vaya COVID-19/PHE rate supplements are now effective retroactive to July 1, 2021, for the following services: Outpatient Services by MD, NP, or PA SA Non-Medical and Medical Community Residential Services Opioid Treatment Services Ambulatory Detox Services Diagnostic Assessments Multisystemic Therapy SAIOP and SACOT Outpatient SA Services Partial Hospitalization and Day Treatment Services Outpatient – CPT codes through Dec. 31, 2021 These rate adjustments will also be reflected in the initial FY 2022-23 rate schedules. To avoid reprocessing claims for prior dates of service, providers will receive a 5% COVID-19/PHE rate supplement payment on all previously adjudicated claims for eligible services in the form of a single payment via EFT or check. Additionally, for the supplemental rates already in effect below, Vaya will pay providers the rate supplements for paid claims processed through June 14, 2022, that were not initially paid at the higher amount. Affected services are: Therapeutic Foster Care (S5145) – to per diem rate of $175 Intensive In-Home (H2022) – 10% increase to base rate back to July 1, 2021 PRTF (0911) – 15% increase back to July 1, 2021 Targeted Enhanced Residential Services – 15% increase back to July 1, 2021, through Feb. 28, 2022 Innovations Waiver services – additional 5% beginning March 1, 2022. Vaya will process claims already paid at base rates and processed through June 14, 2022. These rate supplement payments will be made on a one-time basis and will not require the reprocessing of any previously filed claims. Providers should not refile claims dating from July 1, 2021, processed through June 14, 2022, that have already been paid. Any one-time supplement payments that are subsequently found to also have been paid through provider reprocessing of claims in AlphaMCS will be subject to recoupment. Vaya expects to make these one-time payments to providers before July 1, 2022. Please note that affected providers may be sent a contract amendment to execute for receipt of the funds, if needed. Please remember to file any new claims at rates high enough to include the rate adjustment. To verify reimbursement rates for each service, visit our Rate and Checkwrite Schedules webpage.
