JUNE 22, 2021 | COMMUNICATION BULLETIN ISSUE 85 IN THIS ISSUE: SAVE THE DATE: Vaya Health Provider and Learning Summit | Q&A Webinar for Vaya Health Network Providers | IRIS Access Temporarily Unavailable | Service Authorization Requirement Updates for Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities

SAVE THE DATE: Vaya Health Provider and Learning Summit Please join us on July 20-21, 2021 for the Vaya Health Provider and Learning Summit. This year, as the state implements Medicaid Transformation, we have combined our annual Provider Summit with the Vaya Learning Summit to allow everyone (Vaya staff and network providers) to participate in both days of the event. Registration is now open on the Vaya website. Vaya is partnering with MAHEC to offer contact hours/CEUs for the first 500 attendees who register for the summit and request credit. After a year of financial hardships for many individuals and providers, Vaya will pay all costs associated with contact hours/CEUs. Click here to learn more and register!

All Vaya network providers are encouraged to join. Agenda topics for this week include: legislative, provider and network updates.

Q&A WEBINAR FOR VAYA NETWORK PROVIDERS – JUNE 25, 2021

IRIS Access Temporarily Unavailable In preparation for Medicaid Transformation, DHHS needs to update the Live IRIS System and will temporarily suspend access to IRIS Tuesday, June 29 at 5 p.m. – Thursday, July 1 at 8 a.m. Because IRIS reports are due within 72 hours after the provider learns about a Level II or Level III incident, providers may obtain a hard copy of the report from the IRIS website before Tuesday, June 29 at 4:59 p.m. or print the forms from the DHHS website. Reports can be submitted to the LME/MCO via their fax and to DMH/DD/SAS Customer Service and Community Rights Team via fax at 919-733-4962 within the 72-hour period. Providers will still need to enter the report into IRIS once the system is available. Reports that need to be filed with Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) Healthcare Personnel Registry (HCPR) should be faxed to HCPR at 919-733-3207 (also within 72 hours). Reports regarding death (suicide, homicide/violence, accident or restraint) in a licensed facility should be reported to DHSR Complaint Intake Unit via fax at 919715-7724.

Service Authorization Requirement Updates for Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities To reduce the administrative burden on Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) providers and referring providers, Vaya has elected to change some requirements for submitting Service Authorization Requests for PRTF services.
