N.C. DHHS 2021 Perception of Care Survey The N.C. DHHS 2021 Perception of Care Survey will be administered Aug. 1 – Sept. 13, 2021. Survey results are used to inform policy decisions designed for system improvement. Vaya and the state’s other LME/MCOs assist DHHS with this annual survey of members who receive mental health and/or substance use disorder services. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, survey administration options have been adapted and expanded to include the use of distance technologies and paperless surveys. There are three options for survey administration and submission: Option 1, in-person, web-based: The member completes the web-based survey at a provider service site. The provider accesses the survey online, completes the provider questions on Page 1 and clicks to the next screen. The member completes the remainder of the survey using the provider laptop, desktop computer, tablet or kiosk. Option 2, in-person, paper: The member completes a paper survey, and the provider enters responses online. The provider completes the provider questions on Page 1 of a paper copy of the survey, and the member completes remaining sections of paper survey. The provider enters the member’s survey responses online. Option 3, telephonic or with computer/smartphone cameras: The provider verbally administers the survey to the member and enters the member’s responses online. The provider establishes distance contact with member, completes the provider questions on Page 1 and administers
the member survey questions verbally. The provider enters the member’s responses online as the survey is administered or records responses on a paper copy and enters them online after the survey is completed. If you provide mental health and/or substance use disorder services and have been selected to administer the survey to members, please follow the guidelines provided to your organization. If you have questions, contact Performance Reporting Analyst Lynn English at lynn.english@vayahealth.com or 828-225-2785, ext. 1264.
