Q&A Webinar for Vaya Health Network Providers Friday, August 7, 2020, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Q&A Webinars for Vaya Network Providers take place every two weeks. Registration is not required. There is no limit to the number of attendees who can join. All attendees will be muted throughout this live broadcast and will be able to submit questions for the presenters through the Q&A feature.

N.C. Office of State Human Resources Virtual Career Fair for Individuals with Disabilities Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The N.C. Office of State Human Resources will host a Virtual Career Fair for individuals with disabilities who are interested in public service careers in North Carolina state government. COVID-19 NEWS AND UPDATES Additional Extension: CARES Act Provider Relief Fund for Medicaid, CHIP and Dental Providers The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Provider Relief Fund, is distributing $15 billion to eligible Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and dental providers that have been impacted by COVID-19. Eligible providers may receive up to 2% of reported revenue from patient care. The application deadline has been further extended to offer providers an additional opportunity to apply for funding. You must act by Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. ET to be considered for payment from this distribution. Read more about the extension on the HHS website . Application Instructions The application instructions and application form are available at hhs.gov/providerrelief. HHS recommends downloading and reviewing these documents to help you complete the process through the Enhanced Provider Relief Fund Payment Portal . The site also includes a webcast recording, fact sheet and FAQs. Action Required To apply, you must submit your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for validation through the Enhanced Provider Relief Fund Payment Portal by Aug. 28, 2020. If you receive the results of that validation after Aug. 28, you will still be able to complete and submit your application.

N.C. DHHS COVID-19 Community Testing Events Continue N.C. DHHS has scheduled 38 upcoming community testing events in Alexander, Beaufort, Bertie, Chowan, Columbus, Duplin, Graham, Henderson, Hertford, Jackson, Lenoir, Pitt, Randolph, Sampson, Wake and Wilson counties as part of the initiative to increase access to free COVID-19 testing for African American, LatinX/Hispanic and American Indian communities that currently have limited testing sites. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) – Suicide Prevention Web-Based Training Multiple dates through December 2020 Suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States. During this global pandemic, when fear, anxiety and depression are heightened for many people, thoughts of suicide may be more common. It’s important to know about available support strategies. Vaya Health’s Provider and Community Education Team will offer free, web-based “Question, Persuade, Refer” (QPR) suicide prevention trainings through December 2020. Trainings will be offered on the second Tuesday (2:30 – 4:30 p.m.) and fourth Tuesday (9 – 11 a.m.) of each month. Each training is limited to 30 participants.

Permanent Supportive Housing Training Aug. 17 – 19, 2020, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. In partnership with Peer Voice NC, the UNC Institute for Best Practices is offering a two-day training on Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for CST teams. Registration is $200 per attendee. Agencies will receive “buy four registrations, get one free”. Each registration must be a separate entry. Trauma-informed, Resilience-oriented Crisis Navigation Webinar Aug. 18, 2020, 2 – 3 p.m. The National Council for Behavioral Health is offering Trauma-informed, Resilience-oriented (TIRO) Crisis Navigation, a webinar exploring ways to visualize and assess the readiness of your staff to provide effective trauma-informed, resilience-oriented services and care. Understanding trauma and its impact is the first step in fostering resilience through crisis, and regulating yourself and others is key to adapting to challenges ahead.
