PROVIDER TOUCHPOINT – OCT. 21, 2022

Vaya Provider Portal: Oct. 15 Deadline for Administrator Designation Exciting things are happening at Vaya in preparation for the Behavioral Health and I/DD Tailored Plan! This new NC Medicaid Managed Care option will launch April 1, 2023. As announced in the Provider Communication Bulletin on Oct. 6, 2022, we will transition to our new Provider Portal for submission of member and recipient information, including enrollments, updates, discharges, service authorization requests (SARs), and claims. The Provider Portal will be accessible through Vaya’s Provider Central website. It will replace the AlphaMCS portal currently used for submission of member and recipient information updates, authorization requests, and claims as of Dec. 1, 2022. The transition to the Provider Portal includes implementation of a hierarchical structure for organization logins. Each provider organization will identify one systems access administrator (SAA) within their agency. The SAA will be responsible for managing the creation, support, and deactivation of user access to the password-protected sections of Provider Central for users within your organization. Complete the Network Provider SAA Designation Form to provide us with the contact information for your designated SAA no later than Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022.

If you have questions, please contact your assigned provider network contract manager or our Provider Support Service Line at 1-866-990-9712.

Request for Information: Crisis Services in Rowan County The Rowan County Behavioral Health Advisory Committee is identifying recovery-focused, personcentered providers interested in developing a Tier IV Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) and Facility-Based Crisis (FBC) site within Rowan County. A Tier IV BHUC is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and serves as an alternative to the emergency department for adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders. An FBC is a 24-hour residential facility with up to 16 beds that provides support and crisis services in a community setting, providing an alternative to hospitalization for adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders. The FBC site must be able to provide involuntary commitment (IVC) first evaluations. A Request for Information (RFI) is open to all providers contracted with a Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization (LME/MCO) and who provide services for both Medicaid members and recipients of State-funded services (based on available funding). No start-up funds are available. If selected, the provider will help support fundraising efforts alongside the Rowan County Behavioral Health Advisory Committee. Vaya is assisting the Rowan County Behavioral Health Advisory Committee by collecting responses on the committee’s behalf. Please note that Vaya is not a participant in the selection process and will redact identifying provider information from the responses prior to submission to the committee to help ensure an unbiased review. Responses are due by Dec. 31, 2022. Please submit any questions and completed responses to Laurie Whitson, Vaya Crisis/Department of Justice Continuum Director, at laurie.whitson@vayahealth.com .
