Q&A Webinar for Vaya Health Network Providers Tomorrow, Oct. 15, 2021, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Our Provider Q&A Webinars are an important source of the most up-to-date information on topics that affect providers. Registration for these webinars is not required. All Vaya network providers are encouraged to join. Agenda topics for this week include Medicaid Transformation, Vaya/Cardinal consolidation, educational and participation opportunities, COVID-19 flexibility, Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) updates, and Provider Advisory Council updates.

Q&A WEBINAR FOR VAYA NETWORK PROVIDERS – OCT. 15, 2021

Healthy Opportunities Pilot Applications NCDHHS is launching Healthy Opportunities Pilots in three areas of the state to test and evaluate the effects of providing select evidence-based, non-medical interventions to high-needs Medicaid beneficiaries. Impact Health is a new community entity created by Dogwood Health Trust, the pilot’s network lead for the 18-county region in western North Carolina. Impact Health will accept Healthy Opportunities Pilot applications now through Oct. 29, 2021, from human services organizations (HSOs) that address food insecurity, transportation, housing, or an intersection of all program domains. The initial application deadline for HSOs that address interpersonal safety and toxic stress has not yet been determined. To learn more or apply, visit impacthealth.org/network/join/. UPCOMING VAYA TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), Suicide Prevention Training Nov. 9, 2021, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. QPR prepares individuals to question, persuade, and refer those struggling with thoughts of suicide to life-saving help. This two-hour program teaches participants how to recognize the warning signs of a suicidal crisis, offer hope, and encourage others to reach out to natural supports and professional care. QPR is applicable to the public, including both providers and community members. Register: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training | Vaya Health Cost: Free. Registration is limited to 25 participants.

Person Centered Thinking (two-day) Nov. 8 and 10, 2021, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn how to promote a person-centered climate in your work with individuals, with families, or within your organization. This training is available to Vaya network providers. Register: Person Centered Thinking (two-day) Virtual Training | Vaya Health Cost: Free. Registration is limited to 15 participants.

Child and Family Team I (two-day) Dec. 10 and 13, 2021, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. System of Care: Child and Family Team I gives parents, caregivers, and professionals an overview of Child and Family Team meetings from the family’s perspective and teaches strategies and facilitation skills to support children, youth, and families. All participants must have video and audio access and must keep their camera turned on during the training. This training is available to Vaya network providers, parents, and caregivers. Register: Child and Family Team (CFT) Part I Training (two-day) | Vaya Health Cost: Free. This training is limited to 20 participants.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training


Nov. 3, 2021, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Youth Mental Health First Aid USA introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health concerns in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches participants how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Participants will learn the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents such as anxiety, depression, and substance use disorder. This training is available to providers and community members. Register: Youth Mental Health First Aid | Vaya Health Cost: $30. This training is limited to 20 participants.
