Behavioral Health and IDD Tailored Plan Webinar Oct. 28, 2020, 2 p.m. North Carolina will launch Behavioral Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disability Tailored Plans in 2021. DHHS will host a webinar to provide an overview of the process, review key information about Tailored Plans and highlight what’s next for Medicaid beneficiaries. Learn more or register online.
Vaya Provider Advisory Council Vaya network providers are encouraged to participate in and attend meetings of our Provider Advisory Council (PAC), which serves as an advisory body to Vaya on provider-related issues. The PAC operates pursuant to a set of bylaws and is a self-governing committee. Members of the PAC serve as fair and impartial representatives of all network providers for the purpose of advocacy, support and communication. The PAC is designed to facilitate an open exchange of ideas, shared values, goals and visions and to bring forward concerns and solutions while promoting collaboration, ethical operations, mutual accountability and quality services. COVID-19 NEWS AND UPDATES COVID-19: North Carolina to Remain Paused in Phase 3 Gov. Roy Cooper announced Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, that North Carolina will remain paused in Phase 3 of statewide restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19 by three additional weeks. Executive Order 170 , issued Wednesday, extends Executive Order 169 through 5 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2020, as health officials continue to monitor North Carolina’s viral trends. The state has seen increased hospitalizations and trajectory of cases in recent weeks. This week, state health and public safety officials sent letters to local officials in communities with increased viral spread urging continued action in fighting COVID-19 and suggesting additional measures to mitigate its spread. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES National Council for Behavioral Health 2021-2022 Traumainformed, Resilience-oriented Approaches Learning Community The National Council for Behavioral Health’s 2021-2022 Trauma-informed, Resilience-oriented Approaches Learning Community will provide participating organizations, systems and communities with the tools and skills to address trauma and promote resilience. As members of the year-long learning opportunity, participants will connect with national experts through virtual summits and a series of coaching calls to implement organizational change. Applications to participate in the 2021-2022 Learning Community are due by Dec. 11, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) – Suicide Prevention Web-Based Training Multiple dates through December 2020 Vaya's Provider and Community Education Team will offer free, web-based “Question, Persuade, Refer” (QPR) suicide prevention trainings through December 2020. Trainings will be offered on the second Tuesday (2:30 – 4:30 p.m.) and fourth Tuesday (9 – 11 a.m.) of each month. Each training is limited to 30 participants.
