Q&A Webinar for Vaya Health Network Providers – Veterans Services Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. This special Q&A webinar will focus on veterans services and supports, suicide prevention and easy steps to becoming a veteran-friendly organization. Presenters will include Brandon Wilson, Director of Veterans Services of the Carolinas at Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), and Meredith Comer, Vaya Care Management Manager. Registration is not required. All Vaya network providers are encouraged to join.

Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Managed Care Entity Update Vaya is pleased to congratulate the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority on its recently announced


contract with N.C. DHHS to support the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) in addressing the health needs of American Indian/Alaskan Native Medicaid beneficiaries. This Indian Managed Care Entity (IMCE) is the first of its kind in the nation and will establish a new managed care option, called the EBCI Tribal Option, as part of North Carolina’s transition to Medicaid Managed Care on July 1, 2021. The tribal option will serve approximately 4,000 Medicaid beneficiaries, primarily in Cherokee, Haywood, Swain, Jackson and Graham counties. The program includes a strong focus on culturally competent primary care, preventive health, chronic disease management and care management for high-need members. Vaya Health Provider Advisory Council All Vaya network providers are welcome and encouraged to participate in and attend meetings of our Provider Advisory Council (PAC), which serves as an advisory body to Vaya on provider-related issues. The PAC operates pursuant to a set of bylaws and is a self-governing committee. Members of the PAC serve as fair and impartial representatives of all network providers for the purpose of advocacy, support and communication. The PAC is designed to facilitate an open exchange of ideas, shared values, goals and visions and to bring forward concerns and solutions while promoting collaboration, ethical operations, mutual accountability and quality services. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) – Suicide Prevention Web-Based Training Multiple dates through December 2020 Vaya's Provider and Community Education Team will offer free, web-based “Question, Persuade, Refer” (QPR) suicide prevention trainings through December 2020. Trainings will be offered on the second Tuesday (2:30 – 4:30 p.m.) and fourth Tuesday (9 – 11 a.m.) of each month. Each training is limited to 30 participants.
