COVID-19 NEWS AND UPDATES State Lowers Indoor Gathering Limit to 10 to Slow Spread of COVID-19 Gov. Roy Cooper announced Tuesday that North Carolina’s indoor mass gathering limit will be lowered to 10 people in an effort to drive down key COVID-19 metrics. Executive Order 176 will go into effect on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, and will be in place through Friday, Dec. 4. Read more.

The SAMHSA Service Members, Veterans, and their Families Technical Assistance Center recently hosted a webinar about the need for health and behavioral health care providers to ask the question, “Have you ever served in the military?” Asking this question can give providers critical information related to treatment planning and accessing care and benefits. Additional information is available online. The N.C. Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide is partnering with PsychArmor to offer free online courses about veterans and suicide prevention. Vaya Health Provider Advisory Council All Vaya network providers are welcome and encouraged to participate in and attend meetings of our Provider Advisory Council (PAC), which serves as an advisory body to Vaya on provider-related issues. The PAC operates pursuant to a set of bylaws and is a self-governing committee. Members of the PAC serve as fair and impartial representatives of all network providers for the purpose of advocacy, support and communication. The PAC is designed to facilitate an open exchange of ideas, shared values, goals and visions and to bring forward concerns and solutions while promoting collaboration, ethical operations, mutual accountability and quality services. TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) – Suicide Prevention Web-Based Training Multiple dates through December 2020 Two hours of your time could help save a life. Vaya's Provider and Community Education Team will offer free, web-based “Question, Persuade, Refer” (QPR) suicide prevention trainings through December 2020. Trainings will be offered on the second Tuesday (2:30 – 4:30 p.m.) and fourth Tuesday (9 – 11 a.m.) of each month. Each training is limited to 30 participants.
