Nicaraguan Platform for Sustainable Coffee

In Nicaragua coffee is a sector with a high potential to contribute in the decrease of poverty and improve the economic development. However, to take advantage of that potential it requires transformations to face the great challenges that are looming towards the future: productivity, adaptation to the climate changes, that includes diseases and plague control and access to worldwide markets. Those challenges ought to be solved with the participation and contribution of all actors of the productive chain. In 2017 Nicaraguan Platform for Sustainable Coffee– Nicafe’s was born. With the aim to promote the competitiveness and sustainable development of the sector, based on a common vision.
