Veerayatan International Spiritual & Educational Center Khandoba Maal
Veerayatan, the Institution •
VEERAYATAN is a non-‐profit, non-‐governmental, socio-‐religious organization, established in 1973 in the state of Bihar by Acharya Shri Chandanaji with the blessing of Rashtrasant Amar Muniji Maharaj, inspired by the teachings of Tirthankar Mahavir. It is directed and managed by a team of dynamic and dedicated Sadhvis with the support of the trustees, committee members, professional staff and committed volunteers.
•
Veerayatan is a mission, a movement, an awareness which cares for humanity through health, educational and spiritual institutes across the world without any distinction. Its vision is to inspire, empower and beautify lives through Seva (Service to Humanity and alleviation of pain), Shiksha (Ethical Education) and Sadhana (Self Development).
•
Veerayatan encompasses a wide spectrum of activities which include starting and operating of schools, colleges, hospitals and vocational training centers for the disadvantaged, especially the rural populace. Veerayatan has touched thousands of lives and has succeeded in bringing hope and support to millions of people. It has created an incredible impact through its extraordinary contribution towards the cause of alleviating human suffering regardless of their caste, creed, race, religion or socio-‐economic status.
“JAHA JINALAY, VAHA VIDYALAY” -‐ 200 SCHOOLS PROJECT Since 1973, From the villages of Bihar, to the deserts of Kutch and places in between, since 1973, Veerayatan has through, Seva (Service), Shiksha (Education) and Sadhana (Inner development), made a positive difference and transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals. . With the experience of successfully educating over 6000 students annually, Veerayatan is a well-‐equipped and focused organization embarking on a new and life enhancing mega-‐project to build 200 schools in and around Jain Tirth kshetras across India. The words of Tirthankar Mahavir, “Jaha Deevo Deev Sayam” -‐ your one lamp can light hundreds -‐ is the inspiration behind this project to secure a brighter stronger tomorrow.
This project is envisioned and led by Acharya Shri Chandanaji, a globally recognized, revolutionary leader and the visionary founder of Veerayatan. She has stated, “Instead of building temples in towns, why not turn the entire towns into temples”, by creating opportunities for the next generation to be educated, prosper, be healthy and become a valued member of society. The proposed educational canters will impart excellent quality education to children and place particular emphasis on the merits of family values and the purity of thoughts and actions. Veerayatan understands that imparting education does not just mean building schools; the aim is to make these schools the focal point for the development of the entire village. Vocational training, properly trained teachers, a comprehensive curriculum, the imparting of good moral values and stressing the importance of caring for the environment will all be necessary parts of the recipe for transforming individuals, and, in turn, society. Acharya Shri Chandanaji strongly believes that “Gyaan Daan”, an educational opportunity is the best mode of benevolent giving.
This project, known as “Jaha Jinalay Vaha Vidyalay” will seek to provide quality education to over 1 lakh (100,000) children, irrespective of cast, creed, race, religion and socio-‐economic status, at an estimated cost of INR 5,000 crores.
