Undergraduate Programs... F
lorida Atlantic University’s International Business (IB) program moved up to No. 19 in the latest U.S. News & World Report national rankings. The IB program offers two types of degree opportunities, the first is a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business, and the second is a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in International Business.
Recently, the IB faculty conducted a systematic and comprehensive review of 51 well-regarded undergraduate IB programs in the USA. The external benchmarking review led us to replace the experiential Cross-Cultural Communication and Negotiations course with a newly created Global Human Resource Management course in the major. Two pedagogical papers that we encourage you to read/utilize that pertain to today’s environment are: “Brining the Dark Side of International Business into the Classroom,” and “Global Supply Chains in Response to COVID-19: Adopting a Real Options Mindset.”
During both programs, students will learn different components related to International Business, such as how to arm themselves with the right tools to tackle challenges in the business world. They will also be empowered to engage with organizations and communities within a global business environment.
A proposal for an IB minor is currently under review by the college’s undergraduate curriculum committee. The minor is a desirable option for students wanting to internationalize their education.
Students have the option to earn credits towards the IB major through internships, field involvement with the X-culture® experience, and participation in the study abroad program. The College of Business and FAU have formal linkages with partners, where our students pay in-state tuition to take courses abroad in: • • •

Research... O
ur faculty’s research has appeared in prominent international business journals (shown below). Faculty share and discuss their research in class with their students. The benefits that come from having faculty who are dedicated researchers are the fostering of critical thinking, expanding knowledge and understanding within the classroom, and developing a network of peers on and off-campus that connects students to new opportunities.
