Elopement Experience Velas Resorts offer incomparable settings and dream escapes for couples looking to tie the knot during their vacation. The Elopement Package features local indigenous Huichol, Mayan or traditional ceremonies and includes: appointments for purchasing a dress and ring, bride’s bouquet and groom’s boutonniere, wedding cake, sparkling wine for a toast, three-course dinner on the beach, romantic couples’ massage and much more. Additional to the All-Inclusive plan, the package cost is $1,500 USD at Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta, $2,000 USD at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and $2,500 USD at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. Spa Atelier Grand Velas Los Cabos announces its new Spa Atelier workshops for self-discovery. Each class is inspired by local Mexican culture and based upon the principles of ancient Ayurvedic medicine to aid a variety of ailments and needs. They range from mandala meditation where guests free their minds while making flower petal mandalas, to beauty care in which experts guide them in the creation of their own facial routine, to a tea ceremony based on the traditional Mexican herbalism, where guests discover the benefits of a variety of local herbs and teas and learn how to combine them. These activities are available with advance reservation with a minimum occupancy of six participants.

Beer and its Pairings Casa Velas’ latest gourmet activity indulges guests with an exquisite variety of Mexican artisanal beer from the neighboring state of Colima. Cayaco beer has a light body and clear color, with notes of freshly baked bread and cooked rice, accompanied by floral and citrus aromas. Colimita is the tropical representation of a typical German lager; Paramo is an American-style pale ale with tropical aromas, and the Ticús is a porter that is both light and complex at the same time. Each beer is perfectly paired with its respective salad, ceviche, pescado zarandeado and dark chocolate.

Winter Was Here Guests of Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit experienced the arrival of winter with a watch party at the Koi Bar for the premier of the seventh season of HBO’s medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones. The event featured canapés, themed cocktails and the iron throne on a green screen. The night included two delicacies: “Dracarys" (dragonfire in High Valyrian), a crab salad with cream cheese and caviar, served with sriracha, and “Song of Ice and Fire”, cured red tuna topped with a sphere of seaweed ice cream.

Fire and Blood Fans who didn’t make it to the Game of Thrones premier event at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit can enjoy the following recipe for one of the exciting themed cocktails served on the big night. Try “Fire and Blood”, the drink that even pleased Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons.
INGREDIENTS • 1 oz. guava purée • 1 oz. ginger syrup with lemon zest • Johnny Walker Black Label Whisky • Splash of red wine
MIX IT - Combine the guava purée, ginger syrup and whisky, pour in a glass and add a splash of red wine. - Garnish with lemon rind to look like dragon skin, and sprig of rosemary.
