United States abandons the Paris Accord On the 1st June 2017, President Donald Trump announces that he will withdraw the United States from the landmark 2015 global agreement to fight climate change, a move that fulfilled a major campaign pledge but drew condemnation from U.S. allies and business leaders. Trump, tapping into the "America First" message he used when he was elected president last year, said the Paris accord would undermine the U.S. economy, cost U.S. jobs, weaken American national sovereignty and put the country at a permanent disadvantage to the other countries of the world. Supporters of the accord called Trump's move a blow to international efforts to curb the warming of the planet that threatens far-reaching consequences for this century and beyond. Former President Barack Obama expressed regret over the pullout from a deal he was instrumental in brokering. www.yahoo.com .....................................................................

Open Letter From Africa, the Cradle of Humanity, we are, we defend, we want and we struggle with and for the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela We Venezuelans of the Diplomatic Missions of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Africa, we resolutely declare, repudiate, denounce and combat all the aggressions that the Venezuelan extreme right subjects towards the people of Venezuela, its Institutions and its public and private heritage, through clear terrorist actions supported by the Government of the United States of America and certain European and Latin American allies. The serious complaint we are making, will hopefully help to raise the perception, knowledge and acceptance that our brothers and sisters of the mother continent Africa, have a beautiful popular, peaceful, revolutionary, Bolivarian and deeply democratic process Promoted by our Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Frías. A transcendent Process through its inclusive policies at all levels, regional or continental, strongly differentiated from those executed by the 4th Venezuelan Republic, which openly practiced diplomatic and political discrimination with the countries of the South. Thus, in the hand of the Eternal Commander, through his word and his work, the world could not continue to hide the paradox of wealth and inequality in Africa and other Continents. With the bi-regional initiatives, plans and projects were devised that indicated the direction to be taken in building a better, multicentre and multi-polar world. The fight against poverty and inequality has been converted into a struggle against foreign interference, violence and terrorism. Starting from this, the Diplomacy of the People reflected in the action of our Diplomatic Missions, has made it possible to visualize a strong, powerful African continent, triumphant on its way towards dignity, sovereignty, independence and development. We are very proud to be on this continent and to contribute through our modest efforts in order to build and continue to develop the bonds of brotherhood as we have proved in several occasions such as the Social and Economic Forum South America -Africa (ASA), the South American Arab Forum, MNOAL, and other multilateral agencies and international organizations. Without fear, we integrate with the people, share joy and sadness with regards to the future of these strategic countries and we combine our will for the struggle for peace, the geopolitical balance of the world, the great Africa, Our America and our Venezuelan Solidarity. To illustrate this, we explain what the radical opposition in some centers of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has done in an irresponsible way, as well as many of its most characteristic obscurantisms: A. It is stateless, servile and associated with its international peers, killing girls, boys, teenagers, adults and elders. B. Uses sophisticated and costly military and paramilitary equipment to try to impose their agenda through unconventional fourth-generation warfare. C. Destroys basic life and health assets such as hospitals, maternity, dispensaries, clinics, road transport and warehouses. D. Abyss of streets, sidewalks, bridges, sewers, electrical, electronic and telephone networks, ambulances, police patrols, buses and private vehicles. E. Damage the plant heritage of cities by cutting down centuries-old trees, contaminating drinking water sources with fuel and spoiling distributed water systems. F. Loots supermarkets, shopping centers, attacks pedestrians with firearms, knives and deadly blunt objects. G. It is associated with para-militarism, mercenaries and delinquency in general to try to achieve harmful ends. H. It uses children and weapons so that they participate in the disorder and the attacks of streets, placing them as shields against a supposed repression of the forces of the order. I. In several countries, it contracts mercenaries to attack our diplomatic missions and their personnel. J. Violates international laws by trying to justify their actions of pro coup d’état. K. It disqualifies globally recognized authorities as is the Pope's entity. L. Stimulates and urges the Venezuelan right-wing clergy to justify and promote their delinquency activities.

M. Assaults representatives of international organizations which do not approve or give importance to their destabilizing petitions of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela. N. It is responsible for more than a hundred deaths of Venezuelan from the moment of the victory of President Nicolás Maduro Moros. O. It has resulted in material losses of goods and resources for billions of dollars. P. It is closely linked to the international economic and media war against the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez. Q. Promotes foreign military intervention in one's own country to achieve their dishonorable goals. R. It perpetrated attacks on military installations, the police and the government. S. Affects the rights of any person or institution that does not support them. T. Plans and executes attacks, fires, looting, all kinds of evil deeds with the support of a few town halls and regional governments dominated by the right. U. It wanted to ignore public authorities doing public outrage by introducing MPs fraudulently elected to have a qualified majority in the National Assembly. V. It appointed the current Secretary General of the OAS as its representative in order to condemn the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in that organization. W. Seeks to ensure that the United Nations Security Council meets in session and takes a biased position on the situation caused by it in Venezuela. X. It uses infiltrates and disseminates through social networks all sorts of lies about the fictitious murders, arrests and sequestrations of their leaders on the part of the Venezuelan authorities. Y. Promotes the defamation of the President of the Republic and the High Authority of People's Power in Venezuela as a solution to the crisis. Z. It betrays her country. Faced with so much organized violence and the recurrent negative opposition to participate in a timely and peaceful dialogue process - with the presence of intermediaries recognized and authorized by both sides - President Nicolás Maduro Moros, Using the basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Venezuela, in its articles 347-348 and 349, decided: To appeal to a Constituent National Assembly where the sovereign people will take the decision which will lead to the free, universal, direct and secret election of women and men who will face a revitalization of the country by the radical suppression of the violence of the same kind, to strengthen dialogue and peace as a democratic expression in a country of cultural and political diversity, in the name of the recovery of the fundamental values of our population. To this end, Constituent Assemblies have been realized in almost all the states of the country, contributing to them, with a broad participation of various sectors which aspire to live in peace with social justice, also consolidate and maximize the constitutional bases that we gave ourselves in 1999. The result of this initiative, which calls and mobilizes the original constituent Power of the Venezuelan people, will ultimately lead to the election of all public authorities. But the opposition of the Venezuelan extreme right does not want it because of its notorious commitments with the financiers of the centers of imperialism and its lackeys, as well as the large media corporations of disinformation that serve their own interests. Brothers and sisters of this brother continent: For the Dignity, Sovereignty, Independence, Development and supreme happiness of our people: We will win and we will live! Let Chávez live . The fight goes on! Unity, struggle, battle and victory!

Kenya Launches Flagship Standard Gauge Railway Set To Transform The Nation
A map of the standard gauge rail (in red) that will run from Kenya's coast connecting to Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan when complete.
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday launched the passenger train service of the 480-km Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), paving way for the nation's endeavor for industrialization and prosperity. The 3.8-billion-U.S.-dollar infrastructure project was constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation, with 90 percent of the funding coming from China. Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong, who attended the launching ceremony as the special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, said the Mombasa-Nairobi railway has been an early fruit that came out of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in late 2015.
"The Mombasa-Nairobi SGR is an exemplary project of China-Africa cooperation on the construction of roads, railways, aviation networks and industrialization," Wang said, adding that the SGR will bear great significance in boosting the development in Kenya and the region, speeding up Africa's industrialization process, and expanding the reach of the Belt and Road to more African countries. The SGR, providing both cargo and passenger transport services, will cut dramatically the time and costs for the movement of goods and people. It is expected to reduce the time for a passenger traveling from Mombasa to Nairobi to merely four and a half hours compared to nearly 10 hours on bus. Time to transport cargo from Mombasa to Nairobi, meanwhile, will also decrease from two days to eight hours. www.news.xinhuanet.com
