BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA
What’s Inside!
Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Afairs Communiqué The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically condemns the attacks in France, Kuwait and Tunisia, the latter carried out by the self-styled Islamic State (IS). Likewise it expresses its strongest rejection of terrorism in all its expressions. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies its commitment to peace and harmony, with respect to life above anything. There is need for the international community to work deep into formulas for the eradication of terrorism that humanity is at the center of every action. It is intolerable the loss of innocent lives at the hands of hatred and intolerance. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela calls for reflection by all countries in the world, because these facts that cause commotion are the result of the chaos created by the weapons surrendered by Western organizations to different terrorist groups, which have allowed the spread of violence in countries in different regions due to the alliances of terrorist extremists. The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela extends its words of condolence and sympathy to all the families of the victims and their peoples. Similarly it vows to continue working tirelessly in pursuit of peace. Caracas, 27th June, 2015

Venezuela, Guinea Bissau strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation
Caracas, 26 Jun. AVN.- Foreign ministers of Venezuelan and Guinea Bissau Delcy Rodriguez and Mario Lopes da Rosa signed Friday bilateral agreements to strengthen South-South cooperation. The agreements signed between the two countries focus on the reciprocal abolition of visas in diplomatic, service or official passports; certification of degrees or diplomas; and the training of diplomats in both countries through research work. "These three agreements we have just signed will play an important and positive role in the framework of cooperation between Venezuela and Guinea Bissau," said Guinea Bissau's Foreign Minister at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry in Caracas. Lopes Da Rosa described his visit to Venezuela as a "symbol of the South-South dynamic President Chavez initiated at the time. And the fact that we are here now is an example of this." The head of Bissau-Guinean diplomacy thanked Venezuelan government's hospitality during his stay in the country and extended an invitation to foreign minister Delcy Rodriguez to visit Guinea Bissau "to consolidate the signed agreements."

Venezuela supports Western Sahara sovereignty During today’s session of the Decolonization The head of the permanent mission of Venezuela before the United Nations, Rafael Ramírez said this Thursday that Venezuela vindicates the unavoidable right of the People Western of Sahara to determine their own future and independence which they have demanded for over 40 years.
Committee of the United Nations Ramirez supported the demands of the Saharawi people to regain their sovereignty and freedom through the decolonization process promoted by the UN. The Saharawi people is currently under colonial occupation by Morocco since 1975. In 1991 the Kingdom of Morocco and the Polisario Front reached the agreement of making a referendum to determine whether they choose self-determination and independence. “Venezuela expects the negotiation process promoted by the UN reactivates with the purpose of celebrating the referendum of self-determination according to the Plan traced in 1991” Ramirez said. www.hoyvenezuela.info

Venezuela Provides Medical Scholarships to Saint Lucia Students the Saint Lucian government seeks to strengthen health services in rural areas and communities across the island, saying this area of care needs specialists.
Almost two dozen Saint Lucian medical students will soon embark on their journey to Venezuela, after receiving scholarships by its government to pursue a seven-year course in community medicine. The young men and women will study at the Salvador Allende University of Health Sciences, funded by the ALBA group of Latin American and Caribbean nations. The community medicine program proposes to train doctors with an elevated social, humanistic, ethical, scientific and technical commitment. The program strives to train health professionals to offer holistic medical attention to patients, advocating for them and working to heal and rehabilitate the individual, their families and the community. Saint Lucia’s Health Minister Alvina Bertrame Reynolds welcomed the Venezuelan initiative at a time
“Students, parents, what a wonderful gift to the people of Saint Lucia in giving us an opportunity to be trained and come back medical professionals,” she said. “You are well needed to help us fight this battle, because you are going to study integral community medicine. It doesn’t place you only in a hospital. It places you directly, personally in the community and I really salute Commandante Chavez and Commandante Castro for that vision.” Venezuela’s Representative in Saint Lucia, Leiff Escalona, says her government is happy to be strengthening ties with Saint Lucia in both education and health. “It is a social, scientific career. It is a future for your family, for your country too and for the people of Saint Lucia. Of course, it is a pleasure for the government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to continue with this support,” Escalona said. The scholarship includes tuition fees, air travel, medical care, lodging and a monthly allowance. According to the requirements of the scholarships, applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 24 and come from low income households. Source: www.telesurtv.net

Housing Mission Boosts Agro-Productive Areas for Food Sovereignty The Great Housing Mission Venezuela (GMVV) builds housing complexes with agro-productive areas to help ensure people’s right to food. Minister of Housing and Habitat, Ricardo Molina, recalled that the Nation’s Plan, written by Commander Hugo Chavez and converted into law, proposes in its first grand historic goal, to achieve national food sovereignty. To achieve this goal, the Venezuelan State promotes diversified production models in family, rural, urban, peri-urban and indigenous farms to recoup, disseminate and validate traditional and sustainable production models to ensure at least 50% of total production volume. Interviewed by state media, Molina noted that urbanisms built across the country represent households of the country, where families with agricultural potential can plant and harvest food that can be traded both within and outside their communities. In this regard, Victor Barboza, spokesman of 200 Producers Committe Civil Association in Yaracuy state said that thanks to the Bolivarian Revolution and the GMVV, the rural sectors of the country have socio-productive houses “to contribute to food security, both of our families, and the people living in the cities.” “We can take care of and cultivate the land to get our fruits, and so create jobs and secure access to food. Socialism is reaching here (the country) to ensure the good living of the people. We have our worthy homes with light, water and schools for our children,” he said.
Good living in the countryside Thanks to the policy of comprehensive care for people’s needs implemented by the Bolivarian government, Venezuelans living in agricultural areas no longer need to migrate to large cities to access worthy living conditions. Given the lack of jobs and opportunities, agricultural producer, Emilio Arias, during the 1960s had to leave his hometown to try his luck in Caracas and Valencia (Carabobo state), and be able to provide a better quality of life for his four children. However, his father and grandfather, 81, are today in their land growing food along with their families. “Now I live in my worthy house of the Housing Mission here in Cocuaima (Yaracuy state), and we have our land to plant corn and coffee, and we also have 300 avocado trees. The life in the countryside is great because it ensures food and work to raise our children in peace,” he said. For its part, spokeswoman of the Cumbre las Paradas community council praised the achievements accomplished by agricultural producers of Yaracuy state with the launch of the Great Housing Mission Venezuela in 2011. “We have our homes for the good living, and we have improved 100% our quality of life. Before receiving the keys of our house, we had a very humble mother’s house and a 3-bedroom country house in which 4 families lived, now each has its own roof,” said technician in Agri-food, graduated from the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UVB). www.hoyvenezuela.info
