Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Afairs Communiqué The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and the Venezuelan people, expresses its deep regret for the tragedy of the people of Nepal and transmitts its sympathy to the families of the thousands of victims of the earthquake that occurred on Saturday in that country. From Venezuela, we put to the disposition of the President Ram Baran Yadav our teams of Civil Protection to provide all cooperation that these situations require. By offering its condolences to the people and the Nepalese Government, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its solidarity in this time of sorrow. 6. Venezuela rejects in the UN double standard on struggle against terrorism
Venezuela strengthens South-South cooperation with countries in Asia and Africa Caracas, 23 Abr. AVN.The Vice President, Jorge Arreaza, visited on Thursday, 23rd April, the city of Bandung, capital of West Java province, Indonesia, where 60 years ago the first Asia-Africa Summit was held, in which colonialism which was still dominant in Africa then, was condemned and the racist system of apartheid in the South, thus giving birth to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). At that meeting a statement that included respect for fundamental human rights and the United Nations Charter, the right of every nation to defend itself or in cooperation with other States was made and to advance cooperation in the fight against inequalities. "We are already in Bandung, a City in Indonesia which 60 years ago hosted the First Asia-Africa Summit, precursor of the Non-Aligned Movement," wrote the Executive Vice President. During the Asia-Africa Conference held on Wednesday in Jakarta, in the Indonesian capital, in which Venezuela participated as an observer State and only representative of Latin America, Arreaza

The Asia-Africa Conference is made up of 106 countries, of which 54 belong to Asia and 52 to Africa, and the objective of the presence of Venezuela was to delve into topics for strengthening the South-South cooperation, promote world peace and the prosperity of countries.

President Nicolás Maduro inaugurated the 700,000th house
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro delivered the 700, 000th home, built under a state initiative to provide housing to the poorest in Venezuela. The Sunday´s inauguration of the latest houses built under the Great Mission for Venezuelan Housing Program (GMVV) was in the state of Vargas, where Maduro delivered 3,088 houses.The housing complex holds 193 buildings, schools, pharmacies, nurseries and sport fields. “We are aiming at a million houses for the Venezuelan people, we are aiming to reach President Chavez’s dream of 4 million houses (…). I swear it”. “In spite of the international war aim to fall down the oil prices, we continue building houses”.Meanwhile, the Minister of Housing, Ricardo Molina, said that $35 million were invested to build these houses. Investment in housing program President Maduro also said that during the last 3 years, more than $73,312 billion has been invested on the Venezuelan housing program. 175 thousand houses are building per year. New investments to bring water supply to 100% of the population Caracas, 23 Abr. AVN.Ecosocialism and Water Minister, Guillermo Barreto, stressed the importance of recent investments announced by Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, to ensure that drinking water exceeds the current ceiling of 96% and reaches 100% of the population. "President Maduro is keen to expand access to water for the entire population. Bolivarian government has achieved important goals in these 15 years, but we still have limitations that must be overcome," the minister said in an interview Wednesday with Ciudad Caracas newspaper. In this regard, he said that currently major works are being carried out, including the construction of the system for water supply named Tuy IV, in Miranda state, to benefit more than 5 million inhabitants of the Capital District, Vargas state and the Valles del Tuy, in Miranda state.

Venezuela reaffirms support to Palestine in the UN
Venezuelan government expressed once again its support to Palestine during an open debate on the Middle East held in the Security Council of the United Nations (UN). On the debate called Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestine question, Rafael Ramírez, the Venezuelan ambassador in the US, said that international community have a double discourse in Palestine question for those who accept impunity of the Israeli government that violate the Palestine’s human rights. Ramírez requested to the international community to recognize Palestine as a State in order to end with the Israeli’s aggression against Palestine, “it is time that the Security Council reached a consensus in a political solution for Palestine based on the creation of both states: a Jewish state and an Arab state in Palestine; without the creation of a Palestine state, there will not reach peace and justice”, said Ramírez. He added that the UN has issued 68 resolutions to reach consensus; however, the Israeli government has ignored them causing millions of deaths. The Venezuelan government has support Palestine, which is constantly attack by Israel, by sending ton of humanitarian help. Venezuela rejects in the UN double standard on struggle against terrorism
During an open debate held on Thursday 23th April, 2015, in the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) in New York, Rafael Ramírez, ambassador of Venezuela in the UN, rejected that some of the most powerful countries in the world keeps a double-standard on struggle against terrorism. Ramírez also urged to work on projects to protect those young people prone to join in terrorism groups. “It is necessary to stop direct or indirect support gave to terrorism groups if we want to protect the young people from them”. The Venezuelan ambassador mentioned terrorism groups such Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State and Al-Nursa, which own a huge military force. On the debate entitled “the role of youth in countering violent extremism and promoting peace”, Ramírez talked about the importance of taking care of the needs of those young people who live in conflict zones. “It is possible that those children who suffered from the terrible wars on Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Palestine, join nowadays to terrorism groups”, said Ramírez. Ramírez urged to work on education, spiritual and social care to struggle despair on those young people.
