The Zelix will throw down with any freeride board out there—regular or switch. The new aspen wood core adds a little more playfulness to this burly twin by mellowing its torsional flex and shaving a half-pound on average, while poplar and ash stringers down the center create the optimal tipto-tail flex. An offset stance (setback 20mm), light taper, and straight-line rocker keeps the versatile Zelix afloat in soft snow, too.

Our flagship board was developed in conjunction with the team at Silverton Mountain, and like all Venture boards, it gets refined every year based on rider feedback. For 2015 we’re blending aspen with poplar and ash, allowing us to simultaneously trim about a half-pound off each board without compromising flex and durability. This stoutyet-nimble deck dominates all that the baddest mountain in the lower 48 has to offer: big lines, closeout lines, and of course…fresh lines. It’s chatter proof when bombing open steeps, agile in tight trees, and navigates narrow chutes without flinching. Moderate taper and a softer nose provide float in the fresh, while a meaty midsection and tail lend stability and control.

Our Pursuit of the Perfect Snowboard
Straight-line Rocker Venture’s entire line features a proprietary Straight-Line Rocker technology. This special formula follows a linear path underfoot, with mellow rise starting just outside the inserts, and eliminates the lack of control often associated with rockered boards. As a result Ventures offer the best of both worlds—a playful, surfy ride in soft snow, but plenty of control and edge grip when you need it. COLORADO CORE From day one we’ve used only sustainably grown and harvested hardwoods to make our cores. New for 14/15, we’ve cooked up a new aspen/poplar/ash blend that’s cutting up to a half-pound off each board. The aspen is sourced less than 100 miles from our Silverton factory. In each board strategically placed poplar and ash stringers complement the aspen by reinforcing highstress zones and maintaining Venture’s legendary durability. SEAMLESS SPLIT TECHNOLOGY Simply put, we build our splitboards to ride like solid boards. Our splitboard craftsmanship is unmatched: we have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to slop between the inner edges and imprecise hardware placement. P-TEX SIDEWALL & BASE For bombproof durability, all Venture boards come with rugged sintered P-Tex sidewalls. Our Durasurf sintered base glides fast as a race board and deflects all but the gnarliest core shots. TRIAXIAL FIBERGLASS Torsional flex is the key to good edgehold— especially on a rockered board. With fibers aligned in the direction of torsional stress, triaxial fiberglass is the best material for the job. COLD-ROLLED HIGH CARBON EDGES Rockwell 48 carbon steel edges are extremely durable and stay true when others blow out.

There’s no denying we’re incredibly fortunate to dedicate our lives to something we love: snowboarding. Never mind the fact that we get to live, work and ride in the mighty San Juan Mountains, hands-down one of the greatest places to snowboard in North America. The only thing our team loves more than building snowboards is riding snowboards. FUSION FLEX + SIDECUT The right combination of flex and sidecut is Venture’s secret sauce, and is essential for balancing playfulness with control. The perfect fusion of these two elements distributes edge pressure evenly on the snow, boosting stability and edgehold. MULTIPLE WIDTHS One size doesn’t fit all. That’s why we offer four waist widths (24, 25, 26, and 27 cm) in each model. [Note: Stubby Storm is available in 28 & 29 cm waist widths.] INLAID BASE GRAPHICS Boards with inlaid base graphics have an advantage over printed graphics because with inlay, the base material bonds directly with the other components rather than with a weak layer of ink. Because we swap the spare parts from one base with those from another, we are able to use materials more efficiently and eliminate waste.
CASTOR BEAN TOPSHEETS All our boards feature topsheet material made from the oil of castor beans. Not only does this further our environmental commitment by reducing our use of petroleum products; it’s also the most durable topsheet material available. WIND POWER We’ve been running our entire operation on 100% wind power since 2004.

We take what we learn in these mountains and build that knowledge into every single one of our boards.
