REAL WEDDINGS: Jasmine & Mitchell

The Romance...

We met on a blind date (in Longmeadow, MA) set up by my boss Rebecca who happened to be dating Mitchell’s longtime family friend Peter.

The Proposal...

An all-day event! Started with hiking and a picnic lunch at Acadia National Park with our pup Cooper, followed by dinner at Woodman’s Bar and Grill (Orono, ME – one of our favorite restaurants), all leading to an intimate down on one knee proposal once back at my apartment.

Why Vermont...

We had moved to Vermont the year before and had family from both Massachusetts and Maine so Vermont seemed to be the perfect compromise, that along with Vermont’s multitude of beautiful wedding venues and highly recommended local vendors.

The Venue...

The charming Mansfield Barn caught our attention when we first moved to Vermont and had a barn wedding in mind. We had a few other places we were going to scope out but once we met the owner of The Mansfield Barn, an incredibly kind and friendly person, and saw the exquisite inside of the barn we just knew that this was the place we wanted to get married.

Theme / Color Palette...

Navy blue and pale pink.

Fav Detail...

Our handmade yard games that were enjoyed by all our guests.

How did your wedding reflect your relationship as a couple?

Our wedding was so full of love and laughter that it perfectly summarized our relationship as a couple.

Fav Moments...

The warm laughter throughout our wedding ceremony reflecting our everyday life with one another. A full floor of family and friends dancing during our reception entrance song – “Feels Like the First Time” by Foreigner.

Wedding Advice...

Give your vendors some room for their own creativity and expertise – they most certainly will exceed your expectations when given the freedom to do so. Also, make sure to regularly check out Vermont Bride for inspiration!
