il Processo:
Throughout my years as an Architectural Designer, I have come to the conclusion that every single step in the design process is just as important as the ďŹ nal presentation. My interest is in the development of every detail since the very beginning. From the aesthetic feeling of the composition being displayed, to the 2D drawings that make a building a reality. Because Architecture is more about what it’s felt, than what it’s seen by the naked eye.

PROGRAMMING Westonian Cultural Center
Location: Weston, FL / Program: Community Center
For this Cultural Center, I want to examine the isolation of people as they pursue their goal – tradition – of the single-family home. How then are these elements applied to the planned community problem? How can they be used to define the proper questions for addressing the issue of community?
AIM: INTRODUCE AN URBAN ELEMENT INTO A SUBURBAN ENVIRONMENT. WHY? SUBURBAN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS TEND TO ISOLATE PEOPLE. THE PURSUIT OF LOW-DENSITY HOUSING OPTIONS, HAVE IN ACTUALITY, CREATED SEMI HIGH-DENSITY SINGLE FAMILY HOMES. CONSEQUENTLY, A NETWORK OF PEOPLE IS CUT APART BY THEIR DESIRE TO HAVE THEIR OWN HOME AND THEIR OWN YARD.
WESTON CULTURAL CENTER
CONCLUSION: SOCIALIZATION IS SECTIONED OFF BY PRIVACY FENCES AND DISCRIMINATORY ZONING BASED ON LEVEL OF INCOME $.
DESIGN INTENT: DESIGN A CENTRALIZED SOCIAL SPACE AND REINTRODUCE THE ELEMENT OF SOCIALIZING, WHICH IS INHERENT IN DENSE URBAN NEIGHBORHOODS.

SCHEMATIC DESIGN Habitable Illusion
Sanctuary Pavilions
This community center is a play between deceiving producing a false or misleading impression of reality and habitability. After studies in Japanese culture and historical Architecture, it can be concluded that a leader of its style is illusions like in the example of the famous Japanese Garden. The garden is designed to look picturesque and deceives the visitor of its size because all components are proportional, but in reality it is almost inhabitable.
Miami Beach is typically an exclusive destination. It’s lined with luxury hotels and occupied by everyday beach goers crowding the sand. This design carves out spaces to provide accessible versions of Miami’s famous pool parties, and offers unique retreat-like studios to local artists who seek exposure and recognition.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT Suspended Urban Gardens
Location: Brickell, FL / Program: Residential and Commercial
This Premiere Urban Outdoor Recreation Space/City Icon augments Brickell’s existing public areas with over 70,000 square feet of gardens. To remedy the site’s leading problem, community gathering areas where residents and visitors can come together and enjoy multiple outdoor recreational options as well as indoors. With a variety of restaurants, shops, etc., Suspended Urban Gardens is the place to be! In addition the two tallest towers serve for the luxurious residential units that increase in price, as the views get more and more spectacular. The third tallest, accommodates offices for distinct businesses, and the two petite towers at both ends of the site houses retail spaces.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS Centro Cultural Venezuela
Location: Caracas, Vzla / Program: Community Center
This community center is ideally meant to inform the resident of Caracas about local Venezuelan culture, art and of ways to create a more peaceful environment for themselves and their families. Due to the fact that Caracas is one of the cities with the most homicides per capita, safety is the biggest aspect regarding the ability for all people to visit this Cultural Center. The spaces within this building are in a way “diffusers of violence where anyone (from all social and economical statuses) can come together at this sacred and safe place.
Thesis
COMPILATION OF THE DESIGN PROCESS SOFT JetĂŠe
Location: Virginia Key, FL / Program: Public Marine Center
Question: why does Miami treat marinas like abandoned parking garages, instead of designing these edge conditions to be of civic use? Goal: layer programmatic priorities throughout my site and eventually other potential harbor zones, to not only provide new places for public recreation and marinas, but simultaneously generate a response to climatic changes with urban development.
Thesis Strategy: design a privately sponsored public space. By reactivating the Miami Marine Stadium and providing activities such as piers, parks, restaurants and recreational areas on the water’s edge, Virginia Key becomes a regional destination point. Like mangroves, the soft infrastructure embraces and creates new ecologies for the future.
