JUST
A THOUGHT
Architecture is a Someliving creature. thing that is born, grows, breathes, and most importantly it interacts with other living creatures in a very personal way. It affects moods and attitudes, and it also effects the health of the world we live in. Architecture is It has the potential to change people, neighborhoods, cities, countries, and ultimately, the entire world. We can either push the envelope and take full advantage of it, or ignorantly settle for the minimum. It’s all
powerful.

NEW URBAN PARK
In response to the growing need for open public space in an urban environment, the design of the new urban park is intended to break the formality of the typical e’xample interior public space while mainting the continuity of the e’xample grid. This was achieved by elevating the park from the street and surrounding it with program to mimic a typical e’xample block. As a result from inside the park the space remains intimate while the city moves around its borders.
12% slope is unoccupiable and thus a disruption of the topography.
Between 8% and 12% slope is uccupiable but not recommended for heavy circulation but rather a place to rest.
8% is uccupiable and fit for circulation.
7
SUN ORIENTATION The ratio of facade materials to one another is dependant upon the orientation of the facade to the sun and the amount of sunlight it would recieve throughout the day.
8
Facades with the most sun exposure were given a high ratio of opaque materials to increase the amount of natural shading throughout the day. Facades with low sun exposures were given a high ratio of transparent materials to allow for maximum sunlight throughout the day.

DOUBLE SKIN FACADE
The intent of the double skin facade is to serve as a type of natural ventilation system for the buildings to enhace the idea of a new urban park. The distance between inner and outer skin is increased or decreased to allow for activity in certain spaces depending on program. For example in residential spaces the distance between skins is much larger to take advantage of the oppurtunity of a terrace space which is so very important to residents living within the e’xample.

search A building that opens to nature. Floor slabs follow the existing topography. People descend down as they make their procession to the main altar.
Nature becomes the backdrop to the main sanctuary, cleansing one from the distractions of everyday life to concentrate on God and what is pure. The ceiling elements bring in light and get higher as they approach the main altar.

Train stations are in nature places filled with movement. Travellers come in and out at a fast pace. At the same time it can be a very stressful place filled with impatience. The element of music gives people another reason to want to travel and come to the Anderson Train Station. It brings entertainment to travellers waiting to depart or waiting for an arrival, and also brings the community together.

The design encourages movement and experimentation. Music performers have a main platform on the -1 floor. The rest of the building is shaped to distribute the sounds from floor to floor with fluidity and ease.
