Daisies Over Diamonds Alliteration with consonant “D

< 1

Daisies Over Diamonds As I was picking daisies, I discovered a diamond, It sparkled like the moon and stars. I dashed to deliver it to my mother. What I believed to be a diamond, was only a rock with a sparkle. My mother and I were disappointed. I went out to the field to find another gift, I never before had noticed the beautiful gifts around me Picking with great speed, grabbing many. daisies. The beauty around us Sometimes we don’t notice the things that come so easy Everything is a gift, you just need open your eyes.

AWAKE

Assonance with long “e”

3

AWAKE Before sleeping I usually read While reading, it feels as if I am going somewhere else From eating scones with the queen To battling pirates at sea, the possibilities are endless. Before sleeping, I usually read fantasy Therefore my dreams are mystical. I dream of dueling fearsome dragons and unicorns But I am crushed when I awaken to find that I am only dreaming. Sometimes my dreams are nightmares Then fear is the feeling I experience while dreaming, It is not appealing to be eaten by a shark Sometimes, you are happy that it is just a dream. I wake up to my parents, and I am grateful.

BELLS ARE RINGING ONOMATOPOEIA

Lets go to school..

5

BELLS ARE RINGING As the bells begin to ring, I know that I must hurry, I dash to my class hoping not to be tardy. The morning bell is the worst ring of the day, The dining signifies that school is starting. The lunch bells ring, ring, ring. You know it is time to munch into your sandwich Your friends have many stories waiting for you. Chatter Chatter Chatter! Your friends communicating. The small break is relieving. Clack Clack Clack! Student’s footsteps are all throughout the halls, The bell has chimed. It is time for school to end. Happiness is spread throughout the school.

SHINING OVER YOU PERSONIFICATION POEM

7

SHINING OVER YOU I shine every morning and destroy the serenity and solitude. The daisies wave to me as I provide light, The daisies dance in the wind, Crickets begin to stop their weeping. Windows plead for mercy as I shine through. The meadow calls my name, Photosynthesis needs my help. I disturb the peaceful sleepers, They moan and groan repetitively. Some are happy to see me, like the birds. They scream with delight about the fact that I am shining

8

LIPSTICK IMAGERY POEM

9

LIPSTICK I color the lips of a very elegant woman Her lips are beginning to crack, Her teeth smell like mint, Her enormous nose displays a shadow on me She looks proud as she displays her make up She repetitively puts me around her lips, I leave an illuminating red behind me. I stain her teeth with my bright red color She wipes me off her bumpy teeth, Man, being lipstick is difficult.

NAIL SALON RHYMING POEM

11

NAIL SALON Watching the lady as she starts to file, My nails had previously looked like those of a crocodile. As the worker at the salon takes out the polish, I suddenly think that this gold looks too goddish. There was another color I went to go get, It was the best one I saw, I bet! She started to paint this brilliant red, But it also had a metallic sparkle like lead. I sit at the table and watch them dry, My nails were so beautiful I wanted to cry.

Blame Similes and Metaphors

How does it feel to be framed for a crime?

13

Blame Finding the dead body, I become a white ghost, Blood from the wound is as red as a tomato. I am extremely confused and call the police, Only to find that the blame was on me. I felt like a scapegoat, taking the blame, But I could not let my dear friend get in trouble. The guilt is like a predator, eating me alive, I just hope that one day, Justice will be served.

14

OREOS Tone Poem

15

Oreos Delicious with Chocolate, Sweet like sugar. An inside as sweet as can be, I love oreos! Chocolate with lard? Disgustingly made, This combination can not be okay. EW, YUCK, NASTY! A sandwich of sweetness Chocolate wafers of sugar, With a soft white center, A combination that is so devourable.

Careful vs. Reckless Mood Poem

17

Careful and Reckless In the front seat, Fun times and memories are in the making, Adrenaline pumping, In the front seat,

The thrill of being in a speeding car.

A driver is not being very neat, I unbuckle my seatbelt, Swerving and Sharp Turning, Regretting that I had never did this sooner, All along the road. My friend is exciting and fun, I buckle my seat belt,

I never want this day to be done. Thinking I should have never left the party, I never want to go back with such a reckless, careless girl. I am trembling from fear, I buckle my seatbelt and pray to be home,

to my monotonous life, I am happy here.

Next to my family. Staying in the car I hop out of the car, to leave the bad driving, for as long as possible, Only to wake the next morning

Only to get in an accident

to find that a car accident occurred,

and almost lose my life.

My reckless friend was gone.

Please, be careful and do not speed!

Greece Allusion Poem

19

GREECE Out in the open, standing in the heat, A statue of Zeus is standing in front of me. Athens is truly a beautiful place to be, Beautiful museums all around me. Beautiful columns and pillars all around, It seems as the buildings were built by the gods. The most beautiful part of all of Greece, Is the Parthenon. The beautiful stone resembles a goddess, This is my favorite spot to be honest.

STEREO HEARTS SONNET

21

STEREO HEARTS My heart’s a stereo beating for you, Makest thou your radio to turn on, If thou were just an old record not new, Would you dust thou off ‘till the dirt is gone, My heart has been broken and left with cracks, Would thee heart mind to scratch my hurt spine, Ancient artifacts are old mean get backs, A note I wish thee had placed in hands mine Like a song of love our hands are in tune If thou were old school like an old boom box Would you defy the law and be jailed soon To what ends I would go to break the locks, Like my thumping heart, my song of love beats Melody meant for the blues it defeats.
