THE VERT ATTACK ZINE
Sebastian La cour Lets start of basic, whats your name and where are you from? S: My name is Sebastian la Cour and I´m from Copenhagen, Denmark. Is this your first vert attack? S:I think it's my 3th this year.
Why did you decide to come back to vert attack or why did you decide to go this year? S: I’ve been looking forward to vert attack the whole year, so I decided to come back this year because it's such a big inspiration to watch skaters with different styles and tricks from all over the world. Skating always feels a little better after vert attack. It's like a stoke overload! So I had to go this year even though I got the flu and had fever and felt real bad, it was still fun to be there.
In your opinion who where the stands outs under vert attack 11? Whats where the gnarliest you witnessed that dint happened on the vert ramp? S: I had my eyes on the vert almost all the time, so I didn't really witness much elsewhere. Luigi killed it with the pinball machine that was actually pretty gnarly to witness I think he scored like 5 billion or something like that.
S: Everyone where standouts because no one skate the same way. It's always fun seeing crazy stuff like Bucky's nollie flip madonna, Clay's 540 into the roof and Jimmy Wilkins' head high back disasters. So much outstanding stuff went down I think it would take a whole book to mention it all.
I have been hearing about a indoor vert ramp in Denmark! what is that about? S: Tommy Hvidsø build an amazing indoor vert ramp last year because the indoor skate park in Copenhagen decided to tear the only indoor vert in Copenhagen down. We call the new ramp the "Spoon Mountain Drive" ramp and I'm really grateful that it exists, because it's the only place near Copenhagen where you can skate vert all year. In Denmark it rains 175 days a year, so it really makes a big difference that it's indoor. It's such a nice ramp and place to be and it's always fun to have a session there. Sometimes there is no one there and sometimes there is 20 skaters on the platform, so you never know what to expect. This year some skaters from all over the world who were going to vert attack came by. It was really inspiring and great sessions. You should come by
Any homies you would like to shoutout? S: All the vert skaters, Spoon Mountain Drive, The people at Bryggeriet skate park for doing the best event of the year and Noah Albrektsson thanks for the interview.
To top it all of are you coming back for vert attack 12 next year? S: For sure I can't wait. I got the flu and got sick this year so I missed my qualification and a lot of the event unfortunately, so I'm really looking forward to not being sick next year. I will for sure come back to vert attack as long as it exists.
The Traveling Fist
The anonymous streaming hero ( Macki Vertboy) So Macki you where on the platform live streaming all day everyday throughout the week! What where some of the highlights for you? M: The highlight would be to see all the skaters come back year after year.
What is the mandatory things to have to keep the stream going? Did you get to skate anything? if so how do you like the new ramp? M: I didn't skate so much this year. The new surfice on the ramp is so much better this year. The slippery part is gone and you can focus on just nailing your tricks. The crew at BrygYou streamed the girl qualification, in your opinion where the stand outs? M: The girls qualification was awesome. Happy to see so many good skaters. They all stood out in their own way. One question only.......where are the swedish girls? Type to enter text
M: Good connection???
For people that thinking about coming next year what would you like to tell them? M: Vert Attack has become like a holy Graal of skateboarding. Good to watch it on the screen, but you
Left to right: Jessica Jansson, Macki Vertboy, Amelia Brodka
At last will you be coming back next year for vert attack 12? M: To early to tell, but I think I will be back for sure.
