PRODUCTS AND SOLUTIONS FOR WORKING AT HEIGHT
INDUSTRIAL
Who is Harken?
Production
Harken Industrial is a division of Harken Inc. We design and manufacture a broad range of high-end, material-handling apparatus. Strong, lightweight products include low-friction winches, pulleys, linear motion carriages, and rail and roller furling equipment in aluminium, stainless, and titanium.
Research, development and production are carried out entirely by Harken, to ensure control on quality.
For over 40 years, Harken has built its reputation on quality products developed, tested, and used in the most extreme situations encountered in marine environments. As a major name in the sailing world, Harken uses knowledge and experience gathered in that arena to develop products that will meet the Industry’s constantly growing requirements. Harken’s reputation is built on its creativity and reliability, and Harken continues to strive for solutions, even for problems as yet unknown.

Harken Industrial has two centres of manufacturing; Harken Italy produces the PowerSeat while Harken USA produces the Access Rail System and other products.
Test & Quality
Harken has staff dedicated to constantly developing and testing our products, to ensure high performance and quality. Harken has a testing room equipped to perform load tests up to 15 tonnes. The testing is vital to the continual development and improvement of our products.

Taking the work out
The PowerSeat consists of a motorised winch connected to a frame with a built in seat, that allows the user to work at height more efficiently and in greater comfort. The Harken PowerSeat is ideal for all rope access operators, allowing faster ascent and descent. The seating arrangement eliminates wasted energy maintaining an upright position, enabling the operator to work at height for longer periods. Safety is greatly enhanced through the significant reduction in fatigue. Full 360-degree working area allows unobstructed access, even in confined spaces.

The Harken Access Rail is designed for use as an adjustable anchorage point for external maintenance. This system provides freedom of movement at height and the ability to lock yourself in one position as you work.
The Access Rail system provides a secure, reliable solution for single man use in fall restraint, fall arrest and suspended working applications. The Harken Access Rail System offers maximum efficiency and safety in multiple applications for working at height. Using the Access Rail System as a moveable attachment point to restrict access to hazardous areas increases safety while causing least distraction from the task in hand. Using the Access Rail in conjunction with a fall arrest system for rope access work positioning makes for increased, efficiency, productivity and enhanced safety.
6
The Access Rail System has sufficient excess load bearing capability as to allow for use in rescue scenarios. And when installed using appropriate techniques and fasteners, makes up part of a system that meets the requirements of EN795/2012. The Harken Access Rail System is designed for use in the most extreme conditions and needs minimal maintenance.
Harken padeyes can provide fixed attachment points for both work positioning and fall arrest.
Installation requires you to bolt the track and end stops to a strong structural surface. Relevant structural studies should be carried out before installation.

MATERIALS
Harken Captive Ball Cars
Aluminum 6061-T6
Harken’s captive ball technology allows simple installation, removal and servicing of cars without the use of loaders.
Cars and bearing races are machined out of PTFE-impregnated 6061-T6 aluminium.
Multidirectional Capability
Black Hardkote Anodising
The designed symmetry of the system allows for load to be handled from a wide range of angles.
Deeper penetrating anodising provides UV protection and weather resistance. Clear-coat anodising is also available.
The Access Rail must be used with a full-body safety harness and/or working harness or chair that meets /ANSI EN813 support standards.
1. Full-Body Safety Harness Use a full-body safety harness attached to the HC9606 or HC10567 access car with pinstop.. 2. Working Harness Use a working harness or chair attached to the HC9606 or HC10567 access car without pinstop.. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS 3. Tool Service Car Add an optional HC9565/HC10614 pinstop car or HC9608/HC10615 car with H-50547 coupler
Work Positioning – The Access Rail, appropriately positioned and installed, in conjunction with Personal Protection Equipment, allows the operative to work at height locked in position and to change position when required.
DESIGN
The R32 Access Rail’s additional strength allows for additional load in a rescue situation.
Rescue - The R32 Access Rail is strong enough for rescue scenarios.

OPTIONS Torlon® Ball Bearings
For handling high loads and reducing friction, Torlon® ball bearings roll smoothly along the track.
Pinstops Pinstops allow the car to be locked in position on the track for stable work positioning.
Shackle
The standard shackle allows the load to be handled through 210 degrees from side-to-side of the car’s pivot point.
Wheel Toggle
The optional wheel toggle allows the load to be handled below the plane of the surface the track is mounted on where required. Secondary Car Allows for separate tool suspension on the track.
