In the heart of Treme exists two disparaged communities; although exchanges between both groups are rare, they share the common thread of residing near the Interstate 10 and experiencing it on a daily basis. The homeless population that congregates in Treme primarily seeks COMMUNAL MOMENTS OF INTERACTIONPROGRAM BREAKDOWN refuge underneath this infrastructural work, while the residents of Treme rarely utilizes the highway outside of its typical usage. The moments the community of Treme appears most unified are during celebratory communal musical exchanges, which often include jazz music.

9’homeTemporary Housing Dance Hall The program for this site is a cyclically supportive combination of a jazz music library and transitional housing for current Counsiling homeTransitional Housing Outdoortheater libraryDining and formally homeless individuals. These two programs function under the umbrella of a non-profit organization that provides theater library circulation amenities Entrance facilitated work opportunities for transitional housing residents, through the program of the New Orleans Music Library. The library Entrance library is a public entity that unites the residents of the site with the rest of Treme’s population, with the goal of lessening the negative stigma associated with homelessness.
