PLATINUM JUBILEE PARTY—4th June

Great afternoon at the Platinum Party at ICE on Saturday afternoon 4th June. Everyone was in good spirits to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II.

Some dressed up, some of us had fancy hats.

Maggie's Royalty Quiz was a huge success (despite the cheating and backchat!).

The winning team was Dyana Coe and her friends (two Americans and a British Ukrainian!!)

The raffle prize of a hamper of goodies was won by Ian Horwood.

THE LAKES JAUNT—24th June

A fine day to start a well-attended visit to those wondrous lakes just north of Ardales.

Not a drop of cloud, let alone rain, snow or any adversity kicked off a cracker-jack coach transit at the Eroski Glorieta.

37 souls were collected in all, made up from our own club, the Amigos and Vecinos and welcomed guests. Each of these lovely people were ready for a tranquil and informative schmooze to enjoy the Spanish landscapes. These varied from lush green fields to stark massive outcrops of inspiring rocks. They were interspersed with fields of maturing sunflowers, olive, almond and fruit trees making the group so thankful to nature for such visual experiences.

Onward now to the destination -the lakes themselves -a 50 minute ride.

On arrival, we were dropped off by the Restaurante El Kiosko. Now a chance to wander about and take lunch as and when. A very lovely place and if swimming is on the menu, just a shortish path with steps to the lake. The restaurant serves good food with excellent service at very affordable prices.

Ok, time to return to our various earlier pick-up stops. We took a slightly different route back making sure that Heather was able to show us the Caminito del Rey through the nearby gorge. This attraction is very popular with walkers and those who don’t suffer from vertigo!

The last drop-off was at around 19.30, completing as always a very welcome outing for the attendees.

Thank you Heather and Sheila on behalf of us all.

LUNCH OUT AT MINI INDIA Thursday, 21st July

A very good turn out and a very enjoyable meal.

Punography

I tried to catch some fog. I mist. How does Moses make his tea? Hebrews it. Jokes about German sausage are the wurst. I’m reading a book about anti-gravity. I can’t put it down.
