The coach was able to get as far as the steps to Rufino's restaurant, before the road was closed off, andwhere the arranged cars were parked back to the kerb so that all the spectators were able to walk right around the cars
I didn't unfortunately record the makes and models of the cars but some that I can remember were Mini 850, Jaguar e type, 2 Jaguar XK8's, Lancia Fulvia, Austin 7 Ruby and an MG Sports Saloon. This car was especially of interest to not only the public, but in particular to us all as it is owned by Jan Groeneveld, a club member.
I heard many visitors exclaim that this was the best car on show, but sadly he didn't win the "Best in Show" competition.
About 4 or possibly 5 of the cars on show were for sale, mostly all in the 30 40,000 euro bracket, and most were displayed with a history of the car, and the specification.

After viewing the cars, in my case at least twice, we all sought out variouseatingand drinking places around Benhavis toround theafternoon off. At 4.30 we all arrived atthe spot where we weredropped earlier toboard the coach home, and were delighted to findthat our driver had changed and was replaced by David, well known tomany Ice members who hastaken us on numeroustrips, including Diane's ill fated trip to Laguna village for the club birthday party.

We were delighted to see one of the ICE Club Members, Jan Groeneveld, had his beautiful car on display so we asked him to give us a bit of its history. Ed.
My car a 1938 MG VA, and is now very special because there are only about 110 left in the world .
Together with a friend, I bought this car from the previous owner's widow near Blackpool. This man only had one leg so he devised a system to enable him to operate the car.. It had been in the garage for a long time so there was work to be done. The biggest problem was the brakes so we had to go to a company in Hull to have them, and some other things, repaired. From Blackpool to Hull was quite a trip with an old car we did not know but everything went fine and after the repairs were done, and a few minor problems we arrived at the ferry to Santander, almost half way on our trip ,

From Santander we made our way to Seville where we met with our wives. After a journey of a week we arrived in Sabinillas without any major problems.
The car as it is now has cost a lot of blood sweat tears and money. The engine now completely overhauled, together with the bodywork and the interior. None of which would have been possible without my friend Roy, who made the car what it is today. Jan Groeneveld
