Little Falls ABC Summer in the Park

Concert Series and Marketplace to Launch in June

This will be the 15th year that the Little Falls Alliance for a Better Community (ABC) will be sponsoring free concerts in the park for the community, with a marketplace and more at Memorial Park, Main Street and Wilmore Road at the Gazebo. Over 10 weeks, from the last Thursday in June through the first Thursday in September, 10 bands will perform from 7-8:30pm. The marketplace, full of great vendors, will open at 6pm. Guests are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the evenings. The park will be open for kids to play. There will be a 50/50 raffle at each concert. “Besides it being fun and enjoyable, we can’t wait for concert season to begin as it brings out wonderful people,” says Renea Shapiro, president. “I love to see everyone dancing, clapping and singing along. I look forward to this every summer.”

The full line-up of bands includes: The Kootz, 3rdValve, Street Hassle, The New Watchdog Blues Band, Sunset Sound, Nash East, The 10 Til 2 Band, No Discipline, In the Name of Love, and Total Soul. ADA accessible.

The Marketplace will offer food, hot dogs, empanadas, ice cream, beverages,

clothing, jewelry, handmade accessories, paintings, lotions, cosmetics, pottery, candles and more. The Boy Scouts and some local businesses like Ethan and the Bean Coffee House and Sip and Swirl Ice Cream, will have tables too.

The concerts, which are held free of cost to the community, are funded via generous donations, sponsorships from businesses like Lakeland Bank and Visions Federal Credit Union, raffles, and membership fees. Those interested in supporting the concert series can send checks to the Little Falls ABC, 48 Walnut Street, Little Falls 07424, or contact littlefallsabc@aol.com for more information.

A very special thank you to Mayor James Damiano; Council President Anthony Sgobba; Council members Al Kahwati, Christine Hablitz, Christopher Vancheri and Tanya Seber; DPW, Parks and Recreation; and the Little Falls Police Department.
