Glorious Garden Tour

The eighth Glorious Garden Tour, cultivated by the Senior Center of the Chathams, will be held on Saturday, June 5, 10am-4pm, rain or shine. This event occurs once every two years and provides an opportunity to usher in warmer weather by touring 8 beautiful and varied gardens in the Chathams. Each garden is distinctive: shade-loving and sun-loving; meticulously manicured and less formal; perennials and annuals, container gardening; water features, and more. All proceeds will benefit the Senior Center, a not-for-profit agency that is celebrating over 30 years of service to the Chathams and surrounding areas. Advance registration is available for $50 per person online at chathamseniorcenter.org or in person at the Senior Center, located at 58 Meyersville Road (lower level) in Chatham. Like Cheers, But with a Killer Menu

Have you ever wished you could go to a place like the fictional Cheers? Well it’s here in Chatham. This intimate, unpretentious pub features a classic bar surrounded by two levels of tables. They offer a good selection of traditional pub fare, like wings, burgers, salads and sandwiches, but the menu shines when you start ordering things like the Grilled Hanger Steak with roasted red potatoes, crispy onion straws, and a balsamic reduction, or Pan-Seared Scottish Salmon served with Parmesan herb reduction and a lemon beurre blanc sauce. Don’t bypass the Appetizer side of the menu; we liked the Seared Ahi Tuna, shown here, dressed with an orange sesame ginger vinaigrette with wasabi aioli and pickled ginger. Student Filmmakers Honored at Drive-In Film Fest

Young township filmmakers were recognized at the first-ever drive-in event of the 10th Annual Millburn Film Fest, presented by the Millburn Education Foundation. Simon WestfallKwong Real Estate Group of Keller Williams was the Academy Award Sponsor, along with the New York Film Academy. This year’s drive-in event was kicked off by a Facebook Live award presentation for all 8 winning films. Carli Platt, a Millburn High School sophomore, won first place for her stop motion film Clayception. Carli received a 4-week camp from New York Film Academy. Daniel Lee, an MHS junior, was runner-up for his documentary Smash Team 1 and earned a one-week NYFA workshop. Rachel Solomon, an MHS senior, earned third place for her supernatural film Ternary.
