Take in a Shakespeare Play

And A Nightingale Sang…, by C.P. Taylor and Directed by Bonnie J. Monte, will be playing at the Shakespeare Theater of NJ this summer. This endearing play about a middle-class family in England during the Blitz of WWII is, at turns, hilarious, romantic, moving, and inspiring; a celebration of life in the midst of destruction, with fortitude, music, and humor as the protagonists’ main weapons against despair.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ), originally called the “New Jersey Shakespeare Festival,” is one of the leading Shakespeare theaters in the nation, serving approximately 75,000 adults and children annually. It is New Jersey’s only professional theater company dedicated solely to Shakespeare’s canon and other classic masterworks. Through its productions and education programs, the company strives to illuminate the universal and lasting relevance of the classics for contemporary audiences.
