Leasowes Close Church Stretton
This scheme consists of 21 homes; 17 for rent and 4 for Shared Ownership. The development has capacity to house 88 local people. Local farmer, the late Stuart Manley, made a valuable contribution by making his land available. The honour of cutting the ribbon on the new properties was given to Mr Manley’s sister, Christine Downes. COMPLETION DATE: March 2010 This is a very fine development that has been carefully thought out to fit well into the town. I was very pleased to be asked to carry out the official opening in honour of my brother, who cared about young families being able to afford new homes in Church Stretton. Christine Downes.
Key Features  T he development has a storm water balancing pond
which collects surface water before discharging it at a controlled rate into the local watercourse network.  T he balancing pond and a brook, which also runs into it, have
been carefully planted to accommodate and attract wildlife.  T he rustic play area incorporates play features such as raised
banks with wooden balancing poles, stepping stones, stepping stumps and a rustic wooden bench.
Stuart Manley put a lot of effort into ensuring we had the opportunity to build on this land and the finished properties are a fitting tribute to his contribution. His work, and that of our partners, including the town council, has enabled us to create more homes that the community can be proud of. Paul Sutton, Executive Director for Assets and Development.
