Built in 1839 on the Old Jackson Road (now Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) was a home & grocery store by Christian and Dorothea Fleckenstein of Bavaria, Germany. This imposing structure now stands alone as a sentinel from a bygone era. It was owned as a home and grocery store in the twentieth century by Italian immigrants Joseph and Catherine Coccaro, and was known as Catherine’s Palace. In 1985 it was partitioned into one-room boarding house apartments,’ and eventually fell into disrepair. Happily, Catherine’s Palace is being preserved in the twentyfirst century as a bed and breakfast enterprise by Dr. F. Lamar McMillin, Jr. Beginning in 2016, extensive work has been completed to stabilize the structure, and the interior is currently under renovation. Dr. McMillin is working in consultation with local historical preservation expert Nancy Bell and contractor Ricky Antoine to breathe new life into this classic structure; part of Vicksburg’s heritage.

Your REALTOR® can help you write a legally binding, win-win agreement that will be more likely to make it through the process. 6.Your REALTOR® can help close the sale of your home. Issues may arise between the initial sales agreement and closing (also called settlement or escrow), for example, unexpected repairs might be required to obtain financing or a title problem is discovered.
