This gracious home on Drummond Street was proudly restored by current owners Doug and Tina Jones. Built in 1890 by local sawmill owner John Kurfees, the house has had just a handful of occupants. Miss Marcine Shannon owned the house for almost 50 years, until the 1970s. During the time she lived there the house was subdivided into apartments. Abandoned and vandalized after her death, the house sat empty for more than a decade until the Joneses purchased it in 1989. They painstakingly restored it to its original glory. Since then the house has been featured in a number of volumes highlighting Victorian-era architecture.
