Starting Here My name is Vicky Li. I was born in Guilin, a beautiful city in southern China. I have completed my undergraduate industrial design studies at the Fashion Institute of Donghua University in 2007, and been enrolling in the graduate Art & Design studies at Tongji University since then. The change of a product’s color might make little difference in the production process, but a huge difference in its commercial performance. I have collected ten cases that demonstrate great performance in the Mainland China market, in which, by analyzing consumers’ preferences in choice and motivations of engagement, I came to a conclusion of how to get inspirations from the market winners.

Why people keep on coming to IKEA purchasing to get a unified style. One reason is the showroom offering people home-like-scenes. Quoted from the Report

Five senses in biology field include hearing, sight, taste, touch, and smell. Understanding these five factors is an approach to better understand peoples’ perception about objects as well as an efficient tool to extend human sensory perceptions. I established an analyzing model to describe five senses by different distances. Each of the factors expresses a specific aspect to promote in design, production and launching process. The layout is invaluable to both enterprises who has ambitions in the China market and individual designers who want to evaluate user-centered designs.

Touch Color is a conceptual graphic tablet that enables the visually impaired to draw and admire the emotions behind colors. When we observe an object, some colors are regarded as “cold”, while others, “warm”, according to physical wavelength, the characteristics of the perceiving eye and brain. Also the concept of colors can be affected by individual’s experience and its association.

In order to better understand the target consumers, I have spent weeks to hang with a band of rock n’ roll teenagers. After that I set out this catalogue with an image of their life and opinions. sustainable package for brighten yogurt

This work is done in the “Shanghai Traditional Old Brand Renovation Workshop�, one of the featured activities in the Shanghai Design Week 2007. With the popularity of organic yogurt around the world, Bright Dairy & Food, one of the biggest dairy companies in China, is seeking solutions to widen their yogurt product line and add the ORGANIC yogurt to their featured product list. I do the package design for collections of organic yogurt. The package is for three target groups: ladies, children and the aged.

To enjoy the delicious yogurt inside, consumer should first rip off the colored label on top of the transparent bottle. In such case, the label is an important medium to deliver message. Label is enlarged and decorated with cute cartoons to attract kids. Graphical information are designed to draw the attention of kids and teach them the importance of environment protection and knowledge on sustainable issues.
