The coastal location of the project makes for a very dynamic programmatic arrangement. The site is exposed to very tough physical conditions including high winds, solar exposure and sound. The expansion of LAX has made the particular site un-developable. The project takes advantage of this issue to develop alternative programs. The project revolves around the utilization of climate conditions, specifically fog. The site is subjected to fog a third of the year, and with the predictability of the fog movement (west to east) fog harvesting can be explored on the site as an alternative source of fresh water. A life guard training facility requires a lot of water usage for equipment and training facilities, making fog collection an ideal motive to explore. The program of the building is split between living, resting, training and emergency quarters. The station is equipped to also deal with both fire and sea rescue operations. These four groups go into designing of the building. Water collection helps define the physical from of the building in its constraints as it collects fog water.

The new design for Union station had to take into account Potential urban development taking place around the site. With the station becoming a central anchor to new development, similarly to what we ďŹ nd in Paris, New York and other great cities, where their development became a central theme to the urban topography. For this reason this proposal revolves around circulation of people. The station itself has very little of its own program, instead focusing on projecting people out into its serroundings so that they can take advantage of the surrounding development. These new development include a community plaza surrounded by grocery stores and retail, a new football stadium, new residential development and a culture plaza with a new performance hall.

The overlapping of circulation methods became a key component to maintain efďŹ ciency and clarity. A special access route allows for immediate drop off and pick up by motorists, allowing travelers to move over the train station. Taxis and Buses are given their own gates to allow them enough space to wait idle for prospective users. The old union station is kept intact to allow for users to experience the monument on their way to catch a cab. Pedestrian walkways allow for people to easily access surrounding program.

This project is lodeged between the busy Wilshire BLVD and Korea Town. This makes the project is well placed to become an important urban node with a public transportation hub within a 2min walk. This project became an art exhibition as well as a performance hall. As a result the emphasis became on the differnt communitiesutilizing the building. Primaraly drawn as a simple peel of the urban landscape, voids within the piece become the gathering areas of the project.the southern facade is made is primaraly made of perferated metal and wood, where it becomes habitable. the whole skin is also treated as pealing to facilitate southern natural ventilation.

SILVERLAKE HOUSING
This project consisted of developing 50 unit housing in Silverlake, between a cultural frontier of SUNSET BLVD and the surrounding RESIDENTIAL housing development. This project uses this boundary condition as its main influence for developing a new housing complex. 1) The units on SUNSET BLVD. are small single loaded units providing commercial retail on the bottom while targeting and a communal space fro spontaneous artistic endeavours 2) As the units diverge towards MYRA AVE, the units morph in reaction to the suburban housing typology and the change in topography. The units become larger and begin offering private green courtyards fro its users. 3)With the presence of commercial programs, circulation through the project is an import part of connecting the two nodes.

This project consisted of developing a car showroom for the car manufacturer AUDI. With LA serving as Predominately a CAR CITY, most unbuilt land found within the city is utilized to perform as CAR PARKS. This project focuses on the extension of the public street to intertwine it the extension of the road, creating instance for complete interaction between the 3 major PROGRAMS within the building. The double ramp system intertwines the DESIGN CENTER, HISTORIC SHOWROOM, and CURRENT MODEL SHOWROOM. The ground floor is left open to the general public at all times, enabling it to be used as an AMPHITHEATER, as well as a point of REST, and a SKATEBOARD RAMP. FILMS will be shown at night.

Occupying a corner site gave the project the opportunity to supply 2 surfaces to the general public. The facade wraps around the pedestrian ramps in the building as to give visitors a panorama of the city while giving an understanding of how the interior circulation functions.
