The typical Bella Figura reader is a poised female in college or a new college graduate who wishes to create and brand her own professional career wardrobe for her current and future career goals. Bella Figura is more than a fashion magazine; its readers believe in and practice the basic concept of “La Bella Figura� which is an unspoken Italian standard of always being appropriate for whatever the situation. Accompanying the magazine is a digital publication with interactive articles, both portrait and landscape, providing an engaging and dynamic viewing experience.

PUBLICATION // EPUB // ILLUSTRATION Holes is a 1998 young adult novel written by Louis Sachar. This book cover redesign was in honor of the 25th anniversary of the book’s original publication. The colorful cover highlights the infamous and dangerous yellow-spotted lizard characterized in the book that symbolizes the deadly aspects of Camp Green Lake, a brutal desert detention camp where Stanley Yelnats is sent as punishment for a crime he did not commit. The dust jacket cover references the location of the camp, Texas, with a faded old map, wood texture and lace doilies which alludes the flashbacks of the past.

MOBILE APP // BRANDING // UI & UX Spectral is an mobile app with a modern twist on a scavenger hunt. It was inspired by on-the-go people sharing their minute by minute activity and location on social media outlets. Spectral allows users to merge their actual physical environment with their ever changing social activities. Users can leave digital messages for friends at any location of their choosing. When your friend enters within the zone of the message, they will be notified that a message is waiting for them to discover. Using GPS, their mobile device will guide them to the location to find the hidden message. As people’s lives online merge with yours, this app will allow and encourage an interesting and fun new social matrix to evolve.

BRANDING // MENU DESIGN Driftwood Yacht Club & Marina is a members only yacht club and full service marina located in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. RB is known as “the nation’s capital playground” for summer living. The club facilities has a fine dining restaurant and cocktail lounge. Driftwood Yacht Club & Marina is committed to bringing a consistent quality recreational experience to its members and guests and operates year round.

BRAND IDENTITY // LABEL DESIGN Spezia is a family owned and operated olive oil company located in Italy since 1804. Spezia olive oils are a unique blend of spices and flavors specific to the various regions of Italy. The brand identity and packaging celebrates the distinctly ornate design style and deep sense of history Italy is known for and appeals to both men and women. The hand lettering in gold foil on the classic black label communicates a warm and friendly feeling that the Italian culture is known for and conveys a sense of history. The gold foil also complements the olive oil inside the bottle, to make Spezia stand out among the competition on the shelf.

PRINT CAMPAIGN // BRAND IDENTITY // APP Jacksonville’s water is ranked number 10 on the worst drinking water list in the United States. The Jax H2O campaign is a city wide grass roots effort to educate its citizens on the importance of clean and natural drinking water. The campaign details how the implementation of a reverse osmosis water filtration system would ensure the healthy and vital nutrients necessary for life that water provides. The project includes a request for the community to petition the mayor online with their support to have pure and clean water flowing through Jacksonville. Graphics and a fresh layout make the proposed project easy to understand and therefore more likely to gain support from a wide audience and raise awareness.

PACKAGE DESIGN // BRANDING // ADVERTISING Quantini pasta provides an easy all in one solution to portion control that is marketed towards people who want a quick and healthy meal without sacrificing taste. Simply adjust the handy built in portion control lid with ease of mind that you are preparing a perfectly portioned meal. The fun, colorful cylindrical package and vertical presentation makes this product stand out among the competition and enlivens mealtime prep unlike the cardboard boxes of its competitors. The bright red color whets the appetite making mealtime an enjoyable experience. The delightful and friendly faces of the various characters depicted on the label has appeal to all consumers.

CD PACKAGING // HAND LETTERED POSTER This branding and packaging project was for a proposed special limited edition CD collection for the musical group, The Temper Trap. A CD cover and liner notes were designed with soft colors and shapes that suggest a relaxed feeling of bliss which compliments the Indie rock style of music by The Temper Trap. The music represents being carefree and appreciating life to the fullest and not caring what other people think. A coordinating tee shirt in natural colors and a canvas tote bag were designed and hand printed for presentation in a specially hand crafted gift box to hold the entire collection.

ILLUSTRATION // HAND LETTERED POSTER // CALENDAR Every woman has a love/hate relationship with their breasts, whether they are too small or big, most of us couldn’t imagine ourselves without them. This calender helps women to remember their monthly breast examination check to help detect early signs of breast cancer. Each bra represents one woman, the pink representing the one woman who could develop breast cancer in her lifetime and grab their attention with the shocking statistic. While breast cancer is a serious matter, keeping the color palette soft with hand lettered type and illustration brings a successful message by keeping the design whimsical.

Porch Parties offers tips and recipes for planning an enjoyable experience for your guests for every occasion from casual lunches to fast weeknight suppers to elegant dinner parties. Among its 100 recipes are appealing full color photos that offer suggestions and ideas for planning a meaningful dining experience at home to share with special friends and family. The design implements a clean and consistent layout as this cookbook will be used as a reference as well as for inspiration and ideas.
