About Me! I’m an English designer in Rome. I worked in New York for 12 years, co-owning a New York/London studio specialising in womenswear and paper product design. After moving to Italy and having children, I decided to create my own collection. I wanted it to be trend-driven and commercial, yet original and experimental. I now have 300+ designs, covering a broad range of themes. In the last two years I’ve won competitions, been featured multiple times on Print and Pattern, sold and licensed artwork to leading retailers, and seen my work reproduced on beautiful products. I love what I’m doing and am thrilled at the progress I’ve made so far. If you would like to discuss licensing, purchasing, commissions or press opportunities I would LOVE to hear from you! Please have a look at my website or visit me at my Surtex Booth #447 - and don’t hesitate to email me if you see something you like! Q&A Why Italy? I married a Roman! How do you work? Traditionally or digitally? Mainly Illustrator, sometimes Photoshop and recently I’m starting to hand paint again. What are your favourite colours? Any shade of green, blue and turquoise. What inspires you visually? Bold, sophisticated, ‘wearable’ colour palettes and vintage fabric prints. What’s the strangest job you’ve had? Painting tourist portraits under Hippocrates tree in Kos, Greece when I was 21. But I’ve had many - all art-related. What countries have you lived in? England, Greece, Denmark, America and Italy. What are you reading at the moment? The French Lieutenants Wife - in Italian. It’s slow. What do you listen to while you work? Podcasts - Absolute Radio (I adore Frank Skinner) and Ted talks. What makes you happy? Cooking - mainly Italian of course - and hardly ever cakes and biscuits incase I eat them! What was your favourite toy as a child? A little wooden-brick trolley full of old talcum powder and perfumes that I’d mix into potions. Where would you most like to see your artwork? On bedding, dinnerware and wall art at Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel or Land of Nod. Or on anything at Paperchase!
