W34 Manuel has a space in the center of Amsterdam. Used until now as store, Manuel decides to change it into an art gallery use for his family. This family of artists wants to share the space with the neighboors and other artists so the connection to the outside becames very important. Nowadays under construction, W34 will open its doors in November 2018.

SPOORPUNT ROTTERDAM In the old northen part of Rotterdam ÉÉn Blok Stad is developing a new project of casco houses. Traditionally these casco houses were putted on the housing market to make them more affordable for young people. Usually made by themshelves as the houses were provided totally empty. Marjolein is young but also she is very busy with work so she has no time of making the house herself... she needs an architect.

SPOORPUNT ROTTERDAM 2 : the glass doors
The Membrane House is a prototype result of the studies developed together with my group of research LHRC, focused on lightweight structures and textile architecture. Made at home, tested and assembled with our hands, this prototype is born in response to the EME3 architectural competition where we were asked to give a solution to the need of establishing long-term shelters in the worrying current situation with regard to contingency resources.
This prototype contributes to tensile structures development, being part of the new contemporary architectural social paradigm and finding its own morphology and beauty following the logic of loads in tensile structures, as well as offering an efficient response in optimizing its construction materials to its full potential with low market cost.
It is a very versatile prototype that works as private and as social space and it offers many functions. It has been travelling around europe like a boat that navigates by land and in every place it went, it arrived and left with respect leaving ephemeral art memories and great fun.

Many people live in the city because of the diversity that it offers, spatial, programmatic, cultural and demographic. The project location has specific qualities with great potential for creating this diverse living environment. The various stages of transformation of the port offer a wealth of atmospheres, activities and destinations in the area. Our project starts from the existing qualities of the location and of the city as a whole. Within this spatial and typological diversity, there is room for a diversity of residents. In addition to this a new connection will take place with a special public space, buildings and housing types that can form the basis for a new living environment and lifestyles.

EXPO OPTICA In this competition we were asked to solve a temporary exhibition space inside one of the big sheds of IFEMA. The layout of the exhibition space follows a strategy based on a diagonal arrangement of the whole which generates a visual and functional distortion increasing the length of the central corridor and maximizing the number of stands in the most visible place. This strategy, together with the placement of attractive spaces at the ends, such as the FORUM, the networking space and the rest area, facilitates orientation and becomes a dynamic element of the circulations of the complex, encouraging the visitor to walk the as many stands as possible.
