chapter one:
YOU: THE SEED
Before starting to lead a group of volunteers, you have to make sure that you are grounded in your values and know the goals that you hope to achieve during the time of your leadership. Values are a set of standards that determine attitudes, choices and actions. Understanding your values will help you focus on objectives that are important to both you and your teammates.
16 one Choose Your Values
Activity One:
Choose Your Values or Mark them anyway you want!
Feel free to mark the words provided or add some more words that resonate in your mind.
activity tip!
Keep in mind that these values are not only valid in
Guide your team to understand what each word means to them. Emphasize the meaning of value and the importance of having it.

20 one Ask Yourself
Ask Yourself Activity Two:
workshop Start the workshop with a big question. “What goal do you want to accomplish?” Bring in big sheets of paper and make your leaders in training fill the paper with the top 5 values they came up with the last meeting. Then branch out from there and encourage them to ask big questions.
It’s okay if you can’t answer them just all at once. You definitely need time to think about it so use your starting time wisely. Answering and understanding these questions enables you to keep in mind the major things in the journey of your leadership.
21 one Ask Yourself
Write your own questions related to your values:

THEM: THE HELP chapter two:
Who are your teammates? After knowing your teammates, getting to know them even better is crucial. You want to make sure you want to know them well enough to be able to assess their personality. In addition, it also helps to break down any uneasy feeling when assigning tasks or back and forth feedback.
23
24 two Meet your Team
Activity Three:
Meet YOUR TEAM workshop Start the meeting of this workshop with an icebreaker of some sort. Refer page 21 for icebreaker ideas.
