I am second year BA Product Design Student at Nottingham Trent University. Here in my portfolio I am presenting some of my best work from first and second year at university. I am enthusiastic young designer, who would relish the opportunity to dip into new design briefs to help develop new systems or products to benefit other people’s lives.

Brief Design a living space / products for the young, mobile, urban dweller of the 21st Century. Your living space is limited to 15 square metres and must incorporate al the basic housing products listed below. Basic housing requirements: - Bed - Washing Machine - Toilet - Shower - Sink - Storage - Sofa/Arm Chair - Cooking Facilities - Fridge - Table Design Challenge: - Entertainment: User lives alone and enjoys hosting gatherings of 4-6 people within their home.

| A Small Living Space For A Young Individual Who Hosts Gatherings For Up To Six People |


Living Space A living space for young person who enjoys hosting gatherings. There is an open plan kitchen, living and dining room with all the essentials to live and host gatherings with up to six friends. Small wet room with toilet, shower and sink Upstairs with a double bed and great storage space, including a fitted wardrobe and the drawers. Skylight window to lighten up the room and make it feel more spacious.

Explore the commercial home-ware market, developing a single or range of products specifically for sheet material manufacturing techniques such Was laser, water or plasma cutting.

Style Range The F0LD Lamp Shade comes in three styles, which is formed by layering up the sheets of mild steel.


The small circular sheet supports the structure by holding the sheets in place and keeping the shade stable and balanced on the light fitting.


Sketch Development The F0LD Lamp Shade comes in three styles, which is formed by layering up the sheets of mild steel.


Assembly Of The Lamp Shade The 0 4 mild steel lamp shade is formed from three assembly parts that slot securely onto the ceiling light wire fixing. A contemporary and simplistic shade that is effortless to construct together.

Individual sheets of the shade are layered together to form the shade.

Two of the sheets slot onto the wire of the lighting connection. The circular sheet balances and secures the sheets together.

“It’s a common problem in the UK that’s estimated to affect around 1 in every 4 adults and around 1 in every 5 children aged 10 to 11.” Overcoming Obesity The term obese describes a person who’s very overweight, with a lot of body fat. A common health issue in the UK which can lead to other health issues such as: type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, some types of cancer, such as breast cancer and bowel cancer and strokes.


Brief The promotional merchandise market is extensive and cover a manner of items. Merchandise is used for brand awareness, new product launches, conferences and welcome packs or souvenirs. Develop an innovative promotional merchandise product for a chosen brand or market. Consider cost effective production methods.

Brief The Gen Z generation are virtually together more than ever, but some often feel isolated and disconnected from people and society. Also, they are experiencing higher levels of loneliness compared to any other generation. Research, develop and execute a new confectionery experience for Gen Z consumers. Create a confectionery experience that will connect the Gen Z users for an existing Nestle confectionery brand.

Collaboration With Nestle Live Brief - Mash Up’s

Target Market Gen Z are becoming ever growing disconnected form each other from changes in society. The aim of the Mash Up’s is to reconnect friends together when socialising over watching a movie. Research has revealed that the Gen Z generation are becoming more and more health conscious. Therefore, the Mash Up’s confectionery uses the concept of portion control to allow enjoyment of treats without guilt.



Function Of The Packaging From the research, I found that Gen Z are health conscious, due to this I created the tear and share concept to control how much the consumer eats and to share with friends to connect them together. The tear and share confectionery is a mixture of various nestle confectionery products including: Rolo, Smarties, Toffee Crisp, Aero, MilkyBar and KitKat.

Brief Upcycling is used to encourage people to reuse materials and products to redesign into something new, instead of buying brand new goods. Design and produce a fully refined product that is formed from reusing household packaging or everyday waste materials.

Research

Manufacturing the dress

Exploring a range of styles of dress and decorative details and existing plastic bag creations.

The manufacture of the plastic bag wedding dress prototypes was hand made from assembled plastic bags together to form the dress and decorative dealings.

Individually creating each rose from layers of strips of plastic bags and tied securely with thread.

Sewing each plastic rose onto the corset by hand.

Layers of white plastic bags are sewn to the corset and chicken wire body frame works.
