Steven Quartz Universe is the titular main protagonist of the show Steven Universe. He is the son of Greg Universe and Rose Quartz, and the only member of human descent of the Crystal Gems. A half-human, half-Gem as a result of his parentage, Steven is an extraordinary unique being with innate powers beyond that of both normal humans and Gems. While only a child, Steven has steadily grown from an escort of the Crystal Gems into an equal amongst their ranks thanks to his good-hearted nature and resourcefulness. Though he is a part of a monumental legacy, Steven is devoted to fulfillinghisdestinyasprotectorofhumanity, just like his mother was before him. Steven is an optimistic, amicable, outgoing, and carefree boy with a happy-go-lucky attitude that is appreciated by many of the citizens of Beach City in one way or another. He is musically inclined, a trait inherited from his father, with a propensity for breaking out into song and (occasionally) playing on his ukulele. Steven is also very kindhearted and compassionate, something which Pearl notes he has inherited from his mother, and he deeply loves his friends and family. and is very non-discriminatory, never treating anyone with prejudice. No matter thesituation, Steven will always go out of his way to support his loved ones,

Amethyst is a main protagonist in Steven Universe. One of the Gems manufactured on Earth as a part of the Gem Homeworld’s Kindergarten project, Amethyst is one of the last surviving Gems on Earth to join the Crystal Gems. After the rebellion, Amethyst helped her friends protect the Earth over the next five millennia, and often aids in the shenanigans of Steven Universe, Rose Quartz’s son. Amethyst is fun and care-free. Loud and full of laughter, she finds everything amusing, but can be very emotional and impulsive. She is often used as comic-relief. She is bad-mannered, smacking and picking her nose. She’s rather untidy, and claims to have a system for it. Her over-protectiveness of her junk marks her as somewhat of a hoarder. Her hoarding tendencies surface in “Maximum Capacity”, where she is unwilling to let Greg throw anything away in his storage unit. In relation to Steven, she tends to indulge him more and partake in activities with him. She is the Crystal Gem who is the hardest to crack in emotional situations, though at times she has shown to have a major concern for Steven’s well-being. Although she doesn’t have to, she seems to love eating and sleeping, and is seen doing so frequently. Amethyst after rushing her regeneration about her true self-image around the Gems. Amethyst is very observant of other people’s feelings. She tries to reassure Steven in “An Indirect Kiss” when he was worried for her as she fell apart, knows why Pearl kept fixing the Communication Hub in “Cry for Help”, and that Garnet will not forgive Pearl unless the two talk it out in “Friend Ship”.

Pearl is a main protagonist in Steven Universe. One of Rose Quartz’s closest followers, Pearl is one of the last surviving Gems on Earth who joined the Crystal Gems in their rebellion against the Gem Homeworld. Pearl would afterwards protect the Earth over the next several millennia alongside her friends, while later teaching Rose’s son, Steven, the ways of her people. Pearl is a perfectionist who values thought and reason, she has a wide range of knowledge on many topics, and is extremely organized, with a penchant for symmetry (going so far as to impale M.C. Bear Bear to maintain the symmetry of a pile of appliances and scho -ol supplies). Despite her intelligent and calm demeanor, Pearl gets easily flustered and overwhelmed when confronted by something she does not understand or when her plans fail, which can lead to Pearl making rash decisions or speaking without thinking, backing herself into a corner. Despite her perfectionism, Pearl has low self-confidence, in “Friend Ship” she is very dependent on others to validate her, which loops into a strong inferiority complex. According to Amethyst in “Reformed”, she needs everyone’s constant approval to feel secure. Without anyone to tell her what to do or to depend on her, Pearl feels lost and without meaning or value, admitting she often feels weak or like nothing when compared with others or even that she is useless on her own. This has lead her to take drastic actions in order to prove herself — though, thanks to Garnet’s encouragement in “Friend Ship”, she has begun to try being strong for herself and follow her own path rather than let herself be defined by others.

Garnet is one of the four main protagonists of Steven Universe. She is the fusion of Ruby and Sapphire, and is considered the current, de-facto leader of the Crystal Gems. Along with the rest of the team, Garnet is one of the last surviving Gems on Earth who joined the Crystal Gems in their rebellion against the Gem Homeworld to stop their invasion of the planet. Following the war, Garnet helped protect the Earth over the next 5,000 years. After Rose Quartz gave birth to Steven and gave up her physical form, Garnet began to mentor Steven and help train him on how to use his powers. Though often stoic and of few words, her most recent exploits have shown her more jovial, outspoken, and emotional. Though she’s often the most stable member of the Crystal Gems, Garnet tends to act on intuition rather than seriously analyze a situation. For the most part, this works out well, but it has lead to some disastrous outcomes. She lost her usual stoic demeanor when Steven began rapidly aging in “So Many Birthdays” and started rigorously shaking him, thinking that violence was the answer. In addition, she makes a reckless decision to fuse with Amethyst to form Sugilite in “Coach Steven”, and creates an overly-exaggerated story. while

speaking to Connie’s mother over the phone in “Fusion Cuisine”.

Steven is given the mirror by Pearl to learn about Gem history and later discovers that a Gem, Lapis Lazuli, is trapped within the mirror.

“Isn’t it remarkable, Steven? This world is full of so many possibilities. Each living thing has an entirely unique experience; the sights they see, the sounds they hear, the lives they live.”

Due to her dark past, she bears a tremendous amount of self-hatred and sometimes feels out of place among the Crystal Gems.

You might not know, but Garnet is a Fusion between two gems named Ruby and Sapphire. They love each other and won`t let anyone break their bond.
