Conceptual Diagrams

Project Type: Instituitional Building Brief: Design a housing scheme Site Area: 15000 sq.m. Built Up Area: 8270 sq.m. Ground Coverage: 5250 sq. m. Project Brief: The Project was aimed at developing a low cost housing scheme in the region of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The site is surrounded by informal settlements towards the west, gated houses on the east and a hostel on the north. The context is largely influenced on the community and income. The project layout involves a main axis that goes north-south, secondary axis that goes west-east and other subsidiary roads. Considerations have been made for open “gathering spaces that are largely required in such a context, and for the people to be together. The northern most region of the site is proposed for building an instituition- particularly, a temple and a community space. The building material is stone, due to ease of availibilty and other climatic benefits.
