Best Time To Visit Hoian Hoian, located in the Central of Vietnam, was a prominent trading port between the 15th and 19th century. The cultural influence of both locals and foreigners has contributed to forming such a unique destination. On the whole, Hoian town is basically a living museum. The city houses a wide array of traditional constructions, including shop-houses, Chinese temples, French-styled café, etc. Hoian was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1999.


Note that there are no airport and no train station in Hoian. The only transportation link is the road. Fortunately, as Hoian is a stone’s throw from Da Nang, you can book a taxi from the neighboring city to reach the ancient town with affordable prices. Hoian is a city of two seasons with contrast weather conditions. The dry season spans the months from March to September, and the wet monsoon season dominates the rest. The average temperature around the year is 29 Celsius degree.

February To May The weather is relatively mild, coupled with low humidity levels in this period. Rainfall is low as well, making these months the best time to visit Hoi An.

June To August

Visitors from cold areas may feel challenging to adapt to the temperature in these hottest months. The average temperature falls around 30 degrees Celsius, which does not decrease even at nighttime.


September To January The rain seems endless in this period, unfortunately. There is even a risk of typhoons and floods; however, it is aslo quite good time to visit Hoian. If you already book the ticket, just make sure to request a room above the ground floor. Sometimes you will have amazing experiences during rainy days.

Where To Visit In Hoian Hoian Ancient Town

Walk along the small streets in Hoian and admire a variety of traditional architectural styles here. The most common ones are wooden shop-houses with slanted roofs. Japanese Covered Bridge

The bridge built in the 18th century is a cultural imagery of Hoian ancient town. It is 18 meters long with three Chinese symbols above the entrance. On entering the bridge, you can see some intricate sculptures of two dogs and two monkeys, which honor the birth of the Japanese Emperor.
