Tết Nguyên Đán is abbreviated as “Tet”, which means ‘The Feast of the First Morning of the First Day’.
Tết festival is the occasion for the reunions of families and pilgrims of Vietnam. The Vietnamese start hoping for the upcoming year to be better by forgetting about all problems and troubles that they suffered in the past year.
.Tết is considered to be the first day of the spring season, and this occasion is also known as Hội xuân or festival of spring. During Tết occasion, the people of Vietnam return to their home and families. Some of the Vietnamese people visit to their ancestor’s graves in their homeland where they clean their ancestral graves as a sign of respect to the ancestors and some of them return at their family attire for worship.

Children receive money in a red envelope from the elders including parents and other relatives. Vietnam has recently become one of the attractive destinations of South East Asian region, especially during the times of Christmas and of course during New Year’s Eve holidays that is during Tết festival.
