featuring student artists from schools, colleges and universities in the South West

FIRST IMPRESSIONS First Impressions aims to discover young local artistic talent and provide a unique platform for exhibiting their work. Entries have been received from schools, colleges and universities in the local area. With submissions ranging from a class of ten year-olds to mature students embarking on their artistic career, the exhibition promises to showcase the full range of the most promising emerging talent in the South West. This exhibition will give students an opportunity to have their work displayed in a commercial gallery and provide them a taste of what it’s like to be a professional artist. The process includes the submission, the acceptance/rejection, and (for some) the exhibiting and maybe even the sale. Furthermore, one lucky student, who most impresses our judging panel, will be awarded a prize which will guarantee a commercial exhibiting opportunity at View within the next 12 months. This catalogue includes a selection of images being exhibited in the show.
