The International Music Department of the Church of God In Christ Presents:

“THE ST. LOUIS EXPERIENCE” CD&DVD Recording

PROSPECTUS The move of the COGIC Holy Convocation to St. Louis, MO – after 102 years in Memphis, is a historical one; and the International Music Department has the opportunity to capture this event in musical form. The IMD’s upcoming project, entitled: “The International Music Department Presents THE ST. LOUIS EXPERIENCE”, (CD & DVD Recording) is destined to be one of notable achievement; and this momentous occasion will afford to COGIC songwriters the prospect of their music being heard, and the opportunity to present to the world a historic offering. COGIC songwriters, who are interested in this opportunity, may submit original music to be considered for inclusion. Submissions must be mailed to the Receiving Commissioner by the date indicated on the application. Entries which comply with the guidelines outlined in the Songwriter’s Submission Packet, will be forwarded to the IMD Listening Panel. Entries that fail to meet the submission criteria will not be considered further; and the songwriter will be notified via e-mail correspondence from the Reviewing Commissioner. THE LISTENING PANEL (1) The Listening Panel will evaluate songs on the basis of: •

Lyrical content centered around at least one of the seven 2010 Convocation Themes:

Back to the Basics (Return to Holiness) Great God (The King of Glory Shall Come In) Great Vision (Global Outreach & Missions) Prayer & Consecration

Preserving the Legacy of the Anointing A Revelation of God’s Glory “We Do This In Remembrance” ­ Communion Focus Great Accomplishments (103 Years of the COGIC)

Songs biblically accurate and true (Bible-based) Lyrics that are not repetitious (words or phrases that repeat with no variation) Quality Originality Appropriateness for one or more of the following IMD aggregations:

Mass Choir

Youth Choir

COGIC Chorale

Send Judah First

Heritage Singers

(2) Songs that are chosen by the Listening Panel will then be forwarded to the Producers for final analysis. (3) Assigned staff from the reviewing commission, will review and confirm the songwriters participation within their local, district and Jurisdictional levels. SONGWRITERS OF SELECTED MUSIC: (1) Will be notified via phone, email, or postal correspondence. (2) Will have their names posted on the IMD website. (3) Will be required to review and sign a Mechanical License Agreement and a Publishing Rights Agreement prior to the introduction of their songs to any IMD aggregation(s). (4) Will be expected to attend the International Holy Convocation 2010 - at their own expense. (5) Will be expected to assist in teaching their song(s) during Convocation rehearsals. (6) Will have their song(s)/musical pieces ministered and recorded during the worship services and/or musicals for inclusion in “The International Music Department of the Church Of God In Christ presents: THE ST. MUSICAL PIECE / SONG SUBMISSION GUIDELINES The Church of God in Christ International Music is now accepting submissions via US Postal Mail for “The International Music Department of the COGIC Presents: THE ST. LOUIS EXPERIENCE” CD & DVD Recording. The following information must be provided by all COGIC songwriters, who desire to have their original music reviewed for inclusion in the 2010 International Holy Convocation:

Lyrics must be of Biblical truth (Bible based). Song / Musical Piece, must be no longer than 4 minutes in length Song / Musical Piece, must not be repetitious (Words or phrases which are repetitive with no variation). A score of the music and/or lyric sheet must be included with an audio CD. Song / Musical Piece details - title, key and tempo - must also be provided. Song / Musical Piece(s) must be appropriate for one or more IMD aggregations – Mass Choir, Youth Choir, etc. If selected, the IMD reserves the right to adjust or arrange the Song / Musical Piece(s) as they deem necessary.
