San Joaquin Valley Partnership Program June 2012 Focus: San Joaquin Valley kWh and peak kW reductions This Month’s Major Accomplishments: The Partnership had a booth at both the June 1st and June 29th City of Lindsay Friday Night Markets. The second Mobile Education Unit was on display and provided event goers with customized Demand Response flyers to satisfy the co-branded DR requirement of the ELP model. Implementer attended the second quarter Peer to Peer small group meeting on June 1st at the offices of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. The monthly Partnership meeting was held on June 7th. Discussion included a brief overview of the Home Energy Efficiency Survey (HEES) program, and update on benchmarking efforts, and feedback from the 2013-14 transition planning meetings. Implementer met with the City of Woodlake on June 18th to gather facility and space type details relating to energy accounts for upload into the EPA Portfolio Manager system. Implementer participated in PAG meeting hosted SCG, as well as a follow up webinar with SCE from LGP interviews and CPUC webinars addressing statewide marketing and cost-effectiveness for EE all in preparation for the 2013-14 Transition Period. Details of the calls and meetings have been shared with local government partners. The Partnership, for all intents and purposes, has completed the work on 3.1.1. The remaining work includes project wrap up and a final report. All local governments have had their energy accounts (all accounts) scrubbed for accuracy, entered into the EPA Portfolio Manager and submitted to ABS. The partners will receive continued support as they learn better navigate the system and use the resulting data to make decisions supporting investment in energy efficiency. Some temporary values were used when adding facility space type details (e.g. year built) but these will be swapped out with accurate data as soon as that information is located and/or available. Key Issues or Emerging Concerns: Implementer and Utility managers are working to ensure submission of application for incentive on ARRA funded projects with all eight jurisdictions. All cities that received ARRA funds submitted application for utility incentives. o The implementer expressed concerns over the submission of incentive application for the County of Tulare lighting project and decisions to scale back the application at the last minute. Concerns were discussed with Program Manager and have been bumped up to BCD Manager. Implementer and Mr. King are trying to coordinate a time to connect for a conversation. Upcoming Milestones The Partnership will have a booth at the August 9th City of Hanford Employee Appreciation Night and Thursday Market. The next monthly Partnership meeting will take place on August 16th.
The implementer, and Kim Loeb, City of Visalia will travel to Los Angeles to represent the partnership at the 3rd annual Statewide Energy Efficiency Conference on July 18 & 19.
